A/N Epilogue, Abby's point of view. I've been having trouble sleeping (my brain really doesn't like me) so I figured i might as well write! I finished this AND the last online assignment for an online class! That's what I call a job well done. Like last time, please youtube the songs being played as you read the lyrics. It changes the whole experience, I swear.

Oh my god. That’s Cameron. Cameron Quiseng. What is he doing, why is he here?

I wiped my eyes quickly as he walked up the steps of the stage. He wouldn’t take his eyes off of me.

“Hey man, sorry but you can’t be up here,” Benny, the local DJ of the Swingin’ Singers told him.

“I thought this was open mic night,” Cameron said, still looking at me. What is he playing at? “I want to sing a song.”

Benny looked back and forth between us, guessing that there was obviously some sort of history. I was still too shocked to say anything. I glanced at Amber, Jeremy and Shane. The boys were confused, but Amber was explaining everything to them. Or at least explaining that I knew Cameron. I never told her everything.

“You have to put your name on the list,” Benny insisted.

“How many people are ahead of me?” Cameron asked.

“Uh,” Benny looked at me anxiously. “Well, Abby was the last one.”

Cameron smiled. “Great, I’d like to put my name on the list.”

“What do you think you’re doing?” I finally said. He came all this way to sing a song?

Cameron’s eyes grew anxious while they stared at me. His fists tightened and his jaw clenched, the way it did when he was mad. Of course I’d seen him mad more than anyone else probably had. It used to be directed right at me all the time. But this time he didn’t look mad at me. Maybe he did that when he was nervous too.

“I want to talk to you Abby,” he told me in his strong voice.

“Didn’t you hear me just now? I’m done with all of that.” I was whispering it, but I think everyone in the joint could still hear me. They were being really quiet for once.

Although now that I was staring my past literally in the face, “all of that” was coming right back to the surface. Oh my god, what if he’s not alone? What if he brought Zach with him? I can’t look at him; that would be too hard. I can barely look at Cameron.

“Look, I think you should give it a rest man,” Benny said, sticking up for me.

Cameron turned away from me for the first time and walked towards Benny. The announcer leaned forward as Cam whispered something into his ear for almost a minute. I furrowed my eyebrows together; he was definitely up to something.

Benny suddenly smiled widely and held his microphone to his mouth. “Alright ladies and gentlemen, it looks like we lucked out with one last artist. His name is Cameron, and he flew all the way out here from California just to speak to our girl Abby. Apparently they have some unfinished business to attend to. Can we give the Romantic a welcoming round of applause please?”

“What are you doing, don’t let him sing!” I said to Benny. I felt betrayed. I really didn’t like what was going on here.

Benny smiled even wider, saying, “Can you give the mic to Cameron please?” and pulled up a chair. Only he didn’t sit in it. He set it behind me.

“I’m not staying up here,” I told him. I hated how panicked I sounded.

Benny leaned in very close to me so that no one else could hear what he was saying. “Honey, I think you need to hear what he has to say. Just, listen to the song at the very least.”
