A/N Thanks to everyone whose reading, I appreciate it so much :)
Abby was in the living room sitting on the couch with Michael and Vic when Zach and Cameron walked inside. They were laughing about some video Vic had made for the band.
“Hey guys,” Zach said, purposefully taking the seat far away from Abby, forcing Cameron to sit by her. Cameron shot him a dirty look and sat down. Abby placed a hand on his thigh and smiled; he gave her a half-hearted grin – secretly wishing he could shove her away – and asked, “What’re we looking at?”
Vic slid the computer over to him and Cameron laughed at the bloopers from their latest music video, “Wanna Dance with Somebody.” When the video ended Cameron made a sudden realization. He pulled out a phone from his pocket; shivering because it should be his phone instead of Zach’s. Shit, he thought.
Abby saw him staring at the lit up screen and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Cameron tried not to scowl as he looked at her. “Um, I forgot the code. Do you know it?”
“I told you not to change it this morning,” she sang, reaching out for Zach’s phone with a teasing smile. Cameron had to resist the urge to childishly mimic her while she punched in the numbers where he could see. It wasn’t easy for him; an eye-roll slipped past his control. He took the phone back from Abby with a forced smile and saw a picture of her and Zach kissing set as the background. He smirked at Zach and sent two messages.
A minute later, Zach felt Cameron’s phone go off. The screen read, ZP 4 Lyfe, and in the message display area was a number. The code to unlock the phone. He typed it in and saw Cameron’s dog, Pooh, as the wallpaper and read the message asking what they would do about the band.
Zach thought for a second. He texted back asking if Cameron wanted to tell Michael. Dillon and Brent wouldn’t have to know, but Michael would actually notice that something was different, especially since they all lived together. After he sent the message, he looked up in time to see Cameron move Abby’s hand off of his leg. He motioned for Cameron to put an arm around her shoulders, who did so looking really unhappy about it. Sighing because Cameron wasn’t the only one who was unhappy, he sent a quick text saying, she likes to cuddle, to Cameron.
Cameron ignored it and thought about how much he hated this. Abby’s warm hand rested on his chest and he felt a sickening sensation inside. On one hand, Cameron didn’t want to mess up Zach’s relationship; it was obvious he had real feelings for her. But on the other, Abby hadn’t done a single thing to convince him that she was with Zach for more than just the attention the band got. He remembered the first time Zach told him and Michael about her:
A little over six months ago, they were all at a party being thrown by their friend Danielle. Cameron and Michael stayed out on the dance floor all night, but the host led Zach away saying she needed to introduce him to some people. He was gone all night, and eventually the other boys found a ride home on their own.
The next morning Zach had raced into the room Michael and Cameron shared at the time, waking them up from the power nap that had just started.
“I have a serious problem.” The concerned looks on their faces gave way to frustration at being woken up as Zach continued. “I think I just met the most amazing girl on the planet. Beautiful, funny, innocent-looking, but in a way that just screams ‘corrupt me.’ And she’s a fan of A-dub.”
