A/N Children, it gets a little steamy. You've been warned ;)
"He is going to die!" Zach yelled. He stepped in the direction Cameron and Danielle went, but stopped when he heard Abby quietly sobbing behind him. The few people who were still at the party looked away politely from the scene. He had to choose: comfort his girlfriend or beat the shit out of his own body. He knew where his priorities lay. He looked at the clock. If I can get her to not breakup with me for just one hour, there's still a chance to work it out. While she was still in shock he quickly pulled her into the closest empty room he could find.
"Abby?" he said quietly. "What are you thinking?"
She was covering her mouth and her shoulders were shaking with sobs. Tears leaked out of her eyes, slightly ruining the makeup she'd applied. She backed up against the wall, and when she hit it her hands flew to her sides and smacked into it. The shock was gone, and all that was left flitted across her face so quickly Zach wasn't sure if he saw it all correctly. Despair, curiosity, pain, guilt, embarrassment, and finally anger. She looked angrier than she had ever been in her life.
Her hands balled into fists and her body was literally rocking back and forth like a ship in a storm. She composed her face and wiped her eyes quickly. Zach grabbed her shoulders as she tried to step past him, towards Cameron and Danielle. "What do you plan on doing?"
"Stopping that bitch." She tried side-stepping him, but he caught her again.
"Danielle isn't a bitch."
"I was talking about Zach." Abby pushed his hands off and moved forward, only to be stopped a third time.
"Abby just wait."
"For what?!" she screamed. "For him to stick his dick in her?!" Zach cautiously pulled his arms away as she stood there, seething, trying to soothe her for just a minute.
"He wouldn't do that." Zach was sure of that much. Cameron was waiting until he got married to have sex with any girl, and Danielle, while a good friend, was not someone he would be attracted to for a real relationship.
"All Zach's been doing is stuff he normally wouldn't do. So I don't think I'll be surprised on what I walk in on."
"Abby just talk to me."
"Talk about what? He's in there right now cheating on me. I'm so done with talking Cameron! Now I'm just mad!" But her expression clearly showed betrayal, not anger, and a hurt that ran so deeply Zach was dangerously close to telling her the truth. But he knew that if he told her now she would think it was a terrible joke, and never want to be friends with him again. He wouldn't be able to handle that.
He wouldn't handle that.
Abby began crying again, hard enough that he couldn't understand the mumbling that came from her mouth.
"Don't cry Abby, don't cry. You'll be OK, it's gonna be alright Sweetheart." He wrapped her into the safety of Cameron's arms and whispered more comforts, unsure if they were really helping. An extremely small part of Zach glowed, knowing for sure that Abby loved him so much. The rest of him despaired that Cameron was about to ruin everything for them. He will never understand what this feels like, he thought.
Suddenly, Abby jerked her head up and looked into his face. Zach saw a determined flash in her eyes and wondered briefly what grand idea she had. They stared like that for a full minute, neither moving away from each other nor breaking eye contact. Before Zach could react, Abby wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled his lips to meet hers.
