Around eight-thirty in the morning, Cameron groggily woke up from a crick in his neck. He reached his hand up to rub it, when he realized he was holding onto someone. He opened his eyes to see Abby lying against him. Forgetting whose body he was in, his first instinct was to shove her off of him.
Abby toppled to the ground, waking up instantly. She went from sleeping to pissed-off in less than a second. “WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!”
Cameron, whose memories flooded back to him in that second, went pale. “I forgot you were there!”
He stood up, reaching a hand out to help her, but she threw both of hers on the ground, standing up on her own. “Dammit Zach!” she hissed at him as she grabbed her jacket from last night off the ground and stormed into the house, slamming the door behind her without a second glance.
Shit, now I have to deal with that, thought Cameron. He sat down on the couch and put his head in his hands, mussing with Zach’s hair. He missed his bed. His room. His body. He was very disappointed his situation didn’t fix itself overnight.
“Yo, Cam! Get your ass up!” Michael shouted, walking down the hallway in a pair of sweats. He rubbed his eyes as he knocked on Cameron’s door loudly. Nathan had come over first-thing, and jumped on Michael in order to get him out of bed. Nathan followed behind him now, laughing at how obnoxious they were being.
After not getting an answer, they barged in and ran at the bed.
“UGH,” Zach shouted, as his breath was knocked out of him.
“I’m here!” Nathan stated. They didn’t get to see Nathan a lot, as he was always busy making his own career and they were always doing either a tour or some shows.
Zach rolled over and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. The more he woke up, the clearer he remembered things from yesterday: what had happened to him and Cameron, agreeing not to tell anyone except for Michael – and thankfully Nathan too; as a former band member and current best friend, he had a right to know – going to the dinner, and watching Cameron leave the room to go spend the night with his girlfriend.
He groaned again at how depressed he could become right now.
“Hey Nate. What are you doing here?” he said instead.
“I have a show tonight nearby. It’s just a five song set list, but the place is pretty great. Thought I’d swing by and invite you guys to go and cheer me on,” Nathan said with a smile.
“Yeah man, we’d love to go,” Zach answered, “but first Cam and I have something to tell you.”
“Good thing you’re both here,” Nathan laughed.
Zach looked confused, “What?”
Michael sighed and explained. “You said you and Cam. You’re Cam. Nathan made a joke. Ha-ha?”
“Oh, right. Good one Nate. Sorry, I guess I’m just tired.” Zach pretended to yawn. “Don’t wake me up before ten, and we won’t have problems like this.”
“Don’t go to bed so late and it won’t be a problem,” Michael countered. Zach rolled his eyes. As if he could’ve helped it. He couldn’t draw his mind away from Abby, and how she would sleep. Would she notice if Cameron acted too differently? Or what if she ended up liking Cameron-him more than him-him? He doubted it very much at this point, based on how much Cam resented her, but it still worried him. Watching her with him was stressing Zach out.
