A/N Hey guys, I just finished (seven minutes before class started) so I posted it! I hope you like it! Though it's not one of my favorites that I've ever done, it is important to the overall theme. Without further ado, here ya go!

“HEY, BUTTS IN THE CAR!” David yelled up the stairs. “IF WE’RE LATE AND VIC DOESN’T GET TO WALK IT WILL BE ON YOU!”

Vic, Zach, and Cameron were all upstairs, trying to hurry as fast as they could. Today was the day. Vic would be graduating from high school. The ceremony started at six, but if Vic didn’t show up by five-thirty he wouldn’t be allowed to walk across the stage and receive his diploma from the principal.

Kate would absolutely murder them if he was late.

Vic finished buttoning his shirt and threw his tie around his neck. He grabbed his cap and gown from the bed and said, “Guys, come on!”

“Dammit Vic, we’re trying!” Zach groaned, shoving his legs into a dark blue pair of nice jeans. He fell over and nearly plowed Cameron down, who was bent to tie his shoes. Vic ran down without them, and Zach followed, bringing his shoes, shirt, and a hairbrush with him. His pants were still unbuttoned. Cameron was two steps behind them, but he’d managed to put all of his clothes on.

The staircase sounded like a thunderstorm with three pairs of feet stomping down them, but David kept hurrying them on, his arm waving like a windmill. The four men ran for the car where Kate, Michael, and Abby were already waiting. Zach dove into the backseat, not realizing who he was sitting next to. Cameron and Vic were forced to take the two available seats in the middle section.

“You look like you’re running away from an angry father,” Michael said to Zach. Zach looked over and saw Abby and Michael sniggering at the state he was in.

“Ha. Ha ha ha. Oh my god, you’re hilarious. Ha,” Zach responded, and Abby smiled directly at him. It had been three days since they’d kissed on the porch, and Michael was the only one she would currently speak to. Looking at her now made his brow sweat.

Zach put his items on the floor of the car and proceeded getting ready. “Dammit guys, what were you doing up there?” David lectured.

“Nothing, we just lost track of time,” Vic replied. Cameron grabbed Zach’s hairbrush and ran it through his crazy hair that was nearly standing straight up. David grunted but didn’t say anything. He was distracted by honking horns and cars nearly running them over in his haste to get to the school. Zach leaned his hips forward to button his pants when David sharply turned the wheel and he was forced into Abby’s lap.

“Oh my god, I’m sorry!” he spluttered, climbing off of her quickly.

“It’s fine,” she said, blushing. Her hands had automatically reached out to help and landed on his bare chest. She folded them in front of her and looked away. Cameron turned around to give his friend a sympathetic look. While she wasn’t speaking to either one of them, the boys had only gotten closer. Cameron had been sleeping in Zach’s room and they stayed up late discussing all the things they liked about Abby, for once not getting ruffled by the fact that they both liked her. It was strange, but felt almost like they were back in middle school again; having sleepovers and making jokes.

It was silent in the car apart from David muttering under his breath about all the crazy drivers in California. In nearly ten minutes he tore into the school parking lot. It was 5:23. David dropped everyone off at the entrance to the football field and then went to park the vehicle. Kate hurriedly rushed Vic to check in. He complained that he didn’t need his mommy to escort him, but she needed to be absolutely sure that her baby would get his diploma tonight.
