A/N Sorry it took so long to update. But this shiz is about to hit the fan, so prepare yourself!

“I don’t want to talk about it, Zach,” Cameron said angrily.

The rest of the dinner went as smoothly as it could have. Abby held Cameron’s hand under the table; something he didn’t mind nearly as much as he did in the beginning. Conversation at the table wasn’t strained, but Zach and Cameron rarely participated in the easy banter. They both had a lot on their minds. When they got home Cameron went straight for his bedroom without saying anything to anyone.

“I just want to know why you were tonguing her,” Zach replied, equally mad.

“Gee, I don’t know, maybe because I promised my best friend I’d act like him so she wouldn’t notice I’m not who she thinks I am? Be honest, you would have kissed her in front of everyone if things were normal like they should be.”

“Yeah, I would have kissed her,” Zach huffed out, “but I didn’t expect you to be me so…thoroughly”

“Zach,” Cameron said, “I hate this. You can’t get mad at me anymore for doing exactly what you wanted. We both don’t want me kissing her, but you are the one who decided I’d do it. So deal with the fact that, for now, I am Zach Porter and you are Cameron Quiseng and I am going to kiss ‘my’ girlfriend. You want that to change, I’m always going to be alright with telling Abby the truth.”

Zach swallowed back his argument. He knew Cameron was right, and he knew it was unfair to him to ask him do these things. But since when did love ever make sense? He loved Abby, and the thought that the switch could end everything for him was too great a risk.

“Cam?” he started, but was interrupted.

“I just want to be alone tonight. In case you forgot, it’s my last chance to do that before I move into the garage with Abby.” Zach sighed, but left the room.

Cameron grabbed his bass and started playing through all the songs he knew. It was the only thing that still made him feel like himself nowadays.

The next morning Cameron was woken up by a kiss on the cheek from Abby.

“Happy eight month anniversary,” she said sweetly. Cameron rolled over onto his stomach and groaned, pulling his head under the pillow. He hadn’t slept well. He dreamt of the dinner kiss all night long and was restless and woke often. Strangely, Cameron got the feeling that Zach’s body had dredged up the memory in his dreams; the morning wood was quite a bit more noticeable than usual.

When he didn’t get up, Abby lay down beside him on her back. “Come on, I need your help. I’m going to the movies with Cameron and Nathan today but I need to paint yardsale posters for my work before we go.”

Cameron reached out a hand and started flailing around, trying to hit her lightly.

                “What are you doing?”

“Trying to find the damn snooze button on this thing,” he groaned out of the pillow. Abby laughed and grabbed his arm. She put it around her waist and moved to where she was cuddled up in his side.

“I don’t have a snooze button,” she teased, smiling broadly. With the position he was in, he didn’t really have a choice but to nuzzle her neck, so he did.
