First I just want to dedicate this chapter to the lovely fan known as @DragonUnicorn12 who enlightened me on an occurring issue where Marc isn't the strong character he was meant to be. So to start making up for it. I decided to create two new chapters to help with that.

Enjoy...

Mia POV

The next day...

"Mrs. Waters Dr. Forbes will see you now." A male receptionist by the name of... Luke said to me as I waited outside. Really I waiting for Lydia, she said she'd be here 10 minutes early. Sadly, I get to my feet after sending her another text message I go into the office.

I see diplomas all over the room, a small sofa, two chairs sitting in front of a desk and a glasses wearing, French bun, pencil between her teeth as she's 100% focused on the tablet in front of her doctor Forbes. I decided to close the door behind me as I sat down.

"Hello, Mrs. Waters." She greets me looking at to take me in, I wasn't wearing anything expensive just regular long-sleeved shirt and jeans. She smiles warmly at me as if I'm a new book she can't wait to open. She goes back down to the tablet, "Mia Waters? Correct?" I nod,

"Where's Miss. Brooks?" She questions and my mouth opens to tell her that she's on her way and stuck in traffic Lydia comes through the door. "Sorry I'm late, I was debating on drinking Acid-I mean traffic was bad." She quickly covers sitting next to me, removing her scarf.

Ruffling her hair, a bit she smiles at Doctor Forbes, "You must be the famous Doctor Lydia Brooks. It's an honor." The doctor says and Lydia smiles again.

"Thank you, so Harvard and Yale huh?" Dr. Forbes nods and they chat lightly about the highest level of college for a good 5 minutes before Dr. Forbes looks at us both.

"So ladies...what can I help you with today? I'm assuming you two are married right?" We both nod for a second before looking at each other. "Well, we aren't married-married. But we do like a marriage like friendship if that makes sense." Lydia explains and I agree.

And after that I start, "Well 2 years ago I found out that Lydia here...is an alcoholic. And she never told me in all our years of friendship." I admit not glancing at Lydia because Dr. Forbes does it for me. "Well, Lydia how would you respond to that?"

Lydia doesn't say a word, and I feel that this is already backfiring. The way Dr. Forbes eyes were burrowing into Lydia direction I gulped. "Because I knew that Mia wouldn't be able to handle my addiction because I feel she's not used to be a "giver" type of friend. She's used to receiving all her life.... besides I didn't want to tell her. I didn't see a need."

"You didn't see a need to tell your best friend that you have an issue with booze? I understand the shame and guilt behind something like that Lydia. Did you see yourself wanting to protect Mia from what happens when you become drunk or something?"

Again Lydia was quiet, "Well in a sense yes. I kept my worlds separate, in regards to one life where I'm a baby doctor saving lives. In another, I'm Mia's best friend, guardian, rock, wife, sister, anything she needs me to be, and then...alcohol."

"She loved being an alcoholic! She's famous for it.... drinking games that is." I interject when I feel under the gun. I finally look at Lydia who's staring straight ahead. "And Mia what is your concern that Lydia is an alcoholic or that she didn't tell you? And Lydia are you upset that she found out? Let's try and get to the root of the problem shall we?"

"It's just that Lydia has been one thing my entire life, and to know that she's something else with all of these overwhelming powerful...issues I just felt that she was an entirely different person. She changed-"
