~ Surprise! Since I'm having a crappy start to my day: I can't register for classes, I'm sick, and I keep being put on hold for a job interview... I decided to brighten my day by giving you a surprise chapter! Enjoy... ~

Mia's POV

Walking out of Marc's office with Lydia we both jump at the thud behind us. "MARC!" I shrieked at the sight of Marc shaking on the floor, curling into a ball on his side, when I touch him he's cold to the touch. His wings were slowly ripping through his skin and he grits through his teeth for me to leave.

Lydia overlooks him before running out of the room, I tend to Marc's head and prop it against my legs as I spot something shinning. Pushing his shirt aside I get a better view of his ax's covering a crown tattoo on his chest. "Marc your tattoo is glowing, is that bad?"

"They'll be coming for me."

I wipe sweat from his forehead, "Who? What is happening to you? Marc." He slowly starts to move into a sitting position before I help him to his feet. "I got to go, but I will come back." I tugged on his arm, begging for answers. "Where? You're not telling me anything!"

"The Higher Counsel, I haven't really been doing their tasks ever since I met you." I scoff at him offended. "So this is all my fault?"

"No it's just that I haven't been the elite warrior that saves lives, punishes those who need it, and well they're sending me a message. Mia I must leave to handle this, if I don't they'll come after you and everyone else I love." He tells me kissing my forehead before rushing past a Lydia who came back with a bottle of Whiskey. "What is that for?"

She shrugs her shoulders offering it to me, "Stress drinking?"

Ignoring her I go after Marc for more answers, "Why haven't you been doing the missions? Besides the whole Lucy, me, the kids, etc. thing but still. What were they asking you to do?"

"Kill thousands of people, I was terrified for that task given you didn't speak to Lydia for years over it." He mutters and again I was offended. "You don't need to be an ass Marc, and that's totally different. Tell me what's going to happen next. Tell me what you're not." I demand.

He slams the duffle bag down on the floor, turns to me with blazing eyes. "Would you love me if I wasn't an angel? Would you still love me if they took away my wings? Because that's what they might do if they catch me here. I need to go Mia; I need to figure this out. Please just stay here with Lydia, the kids, and the other angels you will be safe until I return."

He went back to packing when I reach for his arm, he stops and I put myself between him and the duffle bag. "I will love you no matter what you are Marc. Even though I will miss the wings, I know I'd love you no matter what." He gives a small smile.

Kissing me he flies out the French doors,

"Lydia!" I call storming out of the room to see her pouring herself a drink, and I snatch it from her. "I need to know what Marc is dealing with. Surely you know." She shrugs her shoulders, and I was completely floored in shock. "What are you saying?"

"Elite warriors have missions, keep the balance, losing his wings...blah- blah. The question is will you be able to handle Marc killing innocent children that are unlucky with disease? Women who need to be taken out of their misery, men who abuse their power. He needs to do angel things honey, no offense but around here with you, the kids, he's become... human. And Marc is anything but human. He's a warrior, he fights-not dirty like me but he's pretty powerful and he hasn't really done anything worthy of that power. So the higher counsel may just return the powers they gave Marc...am I making sense?"
