We kiss and I hear the doorbell ring, walking away from Jake and the kitchen I go and open the door. Good, I see Mia and Marc cheerfully smiling at me, and I allow them in thinking I can close the door before I see another car pull up in the driveway. Mia touches my arm, "I hope you don't care, I decided to invite Anita and Wade."
Bad, very, very, very bad! Looking back at Jake who is pouring drinks for Mia and Marc I slowly turn to face Anita and Wade who...don't look happy with each other. Anita walks in with a cold shoulder and doesn't say a word to me, and I just leave the door open when Wade approaches me.
As time went on the dinner became more and more painfully awkward, and it couldn't be from what Mia and I are going through, or even introducing Jake, no it couldn't be from Wade staring daggers at Jake but Anita...

"So what do you do Jake? How did you and Lydia meet?" Mia asked breaking the immensely thick tension in the air. He says proudly looking over at me now he grabs my hand. "And I met this beautiful woman while training, she was my teacher for a few days and I'll never forget how she saved 6 premature babies and the mother. Lydia is truly an amazing person."
Never have I been a person to blush but the way Jake explained my life, work, and how he saw me made me feel special. "Yea she truly is an amazing person." Mia said catching my full attention when I look at her with a blank expression but I felt shocked to hear her say anything.
"I blinded Nolan," Mia blurts out and my mouth drops, and not only was that bomb dropped so did a fist. Anita's fist slammed the table, "I'm sorry-I can't take it anymore." She faces Wade more, "When were you going to tell me that you were having an affair?!"
