34 - Bad Timing

Marc's POV

Sipping on sweet lemonade I was glad to catch a break after a long boring conference with leaders in India about bringing our technologies together for attempting world peace. We were a long way from it but we were gonna try our hardest to bring ourselves closer to that goal.

My reading is interrupted when an ambulance races by. Seconds later Austin comes out on the front lawn, "Sir it's Mia, she's in the hospital."

Austin, Lisa, Melissa and I are waiting in the lobby when Wade showed up. Anita was already here, she was just in the bathroom. Then finally Mike, Mia's father, showed. "Is there any details on her condition?" He asks me when I give him a sad face, "I know nothing. No one has informed us about anything."

And just when I thought Lydia showed herself I see Lucy, Austin and Melissa were on alert ready to attack when I ordered them to stand down. "I just wanted to see if the child was alright." She sits down further away from us, and waits. "As long as you don't bother us." Wade says,

"Where's your father?" Melissa seethed,

Lucy tells us that her father isn't around, and that we would should just trust her on that. Her words just made me want to see Mia more. Putting my head down I concentrated on Mia's heartbeat, but I couldn't...find Mia, I was drawn to a very strong beat. I mean a heart that was beating a thousand miles per minute. It was growing louder,

My eyes snap open, on my feet I look down the hallway. "Lydia NO!" It's too late, she already grabbed Lucy by the hair and flung her into the wall. Removing a knife she tackles Lucy's body! She held Lucy by her neck, she was dangling off the ground, and everyone was scared. Wade went to stop Lydia. "NO WADE THAT CRAZY BITCH TRIED TO KILL MY BEST FRIEND! I WILL SWEEP UP THE TOWN WITH HER ASS! NOT ONLY DO YOU TRY TO KILL MIA YOU BUST INTO MY FRIEND'S HOUSE AND DESTROY HIS LITTLE APARTMENT! BITCH I'M GONNA END YOU! I WILL GLADLY GO TO JAIL! BLOW UP THE JAIL BECAUSE A BITCH STILL MAD!!" 

The second Wade had placed his hands on her shoulders Lydia with one swing of her arm shoves Wade to the ground with a thunder like crash. "YOU DON'T GET TO TOUCH ME!"

There was a change in Lydia's tone when responding to Wade. She was all high pitched, angry when talking about Lucy. But Wade...her voice dropped to a bone chilling murder voice. One that made me fearful for Wade's life right now. The way Lydia towered over Wade, she looked like she was about to pounce. "Lydia please calm down, we can't be acting like this while Mia is in the hospital." Anita says helping Wade to his feet, she just laughs before wiping her mouth. Looking at a weak Lucy, "You don't get to touch anything that's mine."

"I didn't touch-M-Mia." Lucy choked out holding her neck as she's crippled on the ground, Lydia leans down to her level. "You know exactly what I mean."

"I did this, if I didn't bring her over and..." Anita started when Lydia looks her way, I get to my feet ready to intervene if Lydia is ready to charge. "What do you mean you did this Anita?" She asks removing the knife from Lucy's side. Melissa and Austin stand in front of Lydia,

"Answer the damn question Anita!" She screams over them,

Anita just starts to cry, and Austin and Wade comfort her. Lucy runs down the hallway and Lydia backs up. "It's just not fair, a bitch can't be happy for two seconds before life fucks her over." She mumbles running a hand through her hair. "You stabbed him!" Anita cried out, as we all look over at Wade who was clutching his side. Looking over to where Lydia is- she's gone.
