• tyler opens the door to his apparent, stepping inside and closing it behind him. he sighs. he felt so lonely living alone.
but he knew it was what was best for him. living alone in a city when you couldn't see a thing was difficult, yes, but that's not what he found most difficult.
no one ever spoke to him. they just stared at him... even though he couldn't see, he just knew it. he must look stupid to everyone else; dressed in all black, a white cane, walking slowly, his tinted glasses. he must seem alien.
he felt alien to himself.
but he reminds himself that it could be worse. he could still be living in he small cottage he grew up in, in the countryside. man, that felt even worse. there there was literally nothing to do.
he sighs, walking over to his sofa and lying on his back, removing his glasses and placing them on the floor. his eyelids flutter closed... in most situations like right now he would be listening to music, but at this moment that didn't seem so pleasurable. he didn't want to hear it. he just wanted to be normal.
he could still smell the busy streets... he carried them on his shoes and hand, it was everywhere, the nicotine, the dew, the perfume and the smell of a bakery. it was an odd mixture, be he could bring out almost each one and describe them individually. he could still remember the sound of footsteps, rain in a puddle, water flowing from the sidewalk into a drain, a coffee being poured into a mug. he could remember the feeling of thin, delicate rose petals, a stray, boney cat, old oak furniture, fragile hand made pottery and even a light sponge cake.
well, this was his reality now, wasn't it? it had been for the past ten years.
yeah. ten years. he was twenty five, now... fifteen- in his opinion- was the worst time he could've lost his sight. it was the time where he started going out with friends, doing drinks and drinking even though they knew it was wrong, getting girlfriends and getting illegal tattoos. he almost got to that point. at the peak of his popularity, the height of his happiness, a time where everything felt like it was going to plan...
his world turned upside down. he never would've guessed. he never would've expected it. he never even thought about it. it seemed like something that only happened in books and movies. it still kept him awake at night. tyler joseph did not expect the last thing he saw to be his mother with a terrified facial expression... her face was something he could still picture perfectly today. every detail, wrinkle, flaw and perfection... but she looked devised. and that was probably the last time anyone saw her alive.
he was honoured to have spent the first fifteen years of his life with his beautiful, kind hearted mother.
he shakes his head, trying to think of something new.
it wasn't his fault. there was nothing he could do about it. he shouldn't be complaining... he was just lucky that he was alive.
...
josh and brendon seemed nice. he'd never really spoken to brendon, he seemed a lot quieter than his friend, but not exactly awkward. he was just there. but tyler wanted to know more about him.
josh too, though. the boys both seemed very interesting.
once again: tyler hoped they were dating.
