• there were birds chirping as usual, the streets almost empty of busy businessman. it was the short time of day where the office workers weren't out to go to work, but the small cafe and stores were open to buy food from.
it was rare for brendon to be out (or even awake) at this time, but it was the usual for tyler.
tyler was sitting inside of a cafe today, not the one he usually went to, either. he didn't know what food they served, and was having difficulty making it out over the mixture of sweet and strong smells around him.
oh, he should've just gone to the usual place. but now, anxiety building up inside him, he felt too rude to leave or ask for help. he should've just waited that extra hour until his favourite hideout was available. but he was insanely bored.
he'd just settle for something that all cafes have. like what? toast? bagels? sandwiches?
yeah.he didn't like this.
so he just sits there, not sure what to do, biting onto his nails, hands shaking. was he meant to go up and order food, or would they come to him?
this all comes to an end, though, when a voice interrupts his thoughts. "tyler!" he pauses, confused. was that meant for him?
"a-are you talking to m-me?" he replies quietly, unsure.
"yeah. it's me, brendon. josh's friend. we met once."
the youngest smiles, licking his lips. "oh, hi! what're you doing up this early?"
brendon giggles. "not sure. just thought i'd come down here to get josh and i some warm breakfast, you know?" he continues "i could ask you the same question."
"some cars outside woke me up. nothing interesting. it happens all the time."
"oh, right. ok, uh, where's your food?"
a giggle escapes tylers lips, it was rather forced, he wasn't sure whether brendon had noticed because he couldn't see his facial expression.
"i haven't ordered it. i can't. i'm not that fortunate."
