"And then I'll get down on one knee and we'll live happily ever after," John said, smiling at Peggy and Eliza. He couldn't wipe the smile off his lips. He could feel the ring box in his pocket, making his heart beat, yet soar.

"That's so sweet," Eliza gushed, taking a thoughtful (and wistful, though she would never admit is) sip of her Coke. "He'll love it. Especially the sappy speech part."

Peggy nodded, grabbing the Coke bottle from Eliza to take a swig. Eliza scowled but said nothing. "He's a sucker for speeches from you."

"Really?" John asked, hopefully.

"Duh. Once, he texted me in tears about how beautiful you speech on Protecting Rats for your animal humane club thingy."

John cringed. "That?"

Peggy nodded. "If he can cry at that, you know he's a keeper."  John chuckled and sighed, anxious for that night.

*meawhile at Angelica's apartment*

"So I'll slip out the ring and he'll say yes and we'll go run into the sunset. Not literally of course, don't want to burn before my wedding."

Angelica gave an amused shake of her head and patted his arm. "You'll do fin Hamilton, John is head over heels for you, of course he'll say yes."

Alex took a deep breath before grinning, starryeyed. "I really like this boy, Angie."

"No kidding," Angelica laughed. "I remember when you burst into my room, flopped on the bed adn screamed 'I AM IN LOVE!'" Angie wrapped her arms around Alex and placed a kiss on the top of his head. Philip Schuyler fostered Alexander when he first came to New York for a year, making him a foster brother to all three girls. Even after he was released from Mr. Schuyler's care, he stayed close to the family.

"Our little guy's growing up," she said, half-sad and half happy for him.

The two met up at their favorite resturaunt. Where they went on their first date: Eliza's apartment.

Eliza helped John set up a romantic table in the kitchen and promised him that all of the girls would leave them alone for the night. (She made up the guest bedroom too...😏)

"Good luck," she whispered, squeezing John from behind. "You'll do great."

One second of nervousness, John reminded himself as his stomach flipped incessantly, a life of happiness.

Alex knocked on the door and John opened it. Eliza smiled and said "I'll leave you to it!" before slipping out of the door behind Alex.

Alex leaned in to kiss John, wrapping his arms around John's torso. "Hi love," he said, in betweem kisses.
