Melissa was discharged after the doctor said that her condition was better and her emotion was stabled but she still needed to be monitored because she might do things that could harm herself. Greyson suggested Melissa to stay at his parents' in Edmond considering that he was gonna leave her alone for work and that his mother could take care of her while she went through her confinement. However, Melissa refused and said that she would be fine at the condo. They hadn't talked much since Melissa was sleeping in the car on their way back from the hospital. Since she hadn't fully recovered, Greyson had to be there to aid her to walk. Once he laid Melissa down on the bed, Greyson asked, "You want to eat anything?"
Melissa shook her head and looked away. She just wanted to sleep and tried not to think about anything.
"You must eat something. You have been skipping your meal since you were at the hospital."
Melissa just stayed in silence. She didn't have the mood to do anything and it included talking. Greyson sighed as he walked through the door.
Half an hour later, Greyson returned to the room with a tray of food in his hands. He was hoping that Melissa would eat his cook like how she did while she was pregnant. Things may be different now but there were still hopes in Greyson's heart.
Greyson knew Melissa wasn't sleeping by the way she shifted her position and turned her back to Greyson when he approached the bed. He placed the tray on the nightstand and sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Mel. I cooked you something. Eat up, yeah?" No response.
Greyson knew she wouldn't respond to him even if he tried more. So, he leaned his back on the headboard and stared at nothing.
"I'm sad, too, you know." He suddenly spoke. Melissa's eyes fluttered open. She listened to him as he continued, "I've always wanted a baby and to know that you were pregnant was really a good news to me. Even though, yeah.." He let out a small chuckle. "...you didn't want it at first."
"I was excited to know that I would be a father. I couldn't wait for the baby to come out, to play with him and hold his little hands."
Greyson's face scrunched as he tried to hold in his tears. "But yeah, things won't always turn out like how we want it to be."
Melissa closed her eyes tight and cried silently. Her shoulders were shaking as she sobbed and Greyson saw that but he just let her.
"He was a strong boy. I wish he could stay longer with us." Greyson finally let his tears fall down on his face.
"Little Greyson." He smiled remembering the baby's face.
Greyson wiped his tears and turned to Melissa. He leaned in to her and landed his head on hers.
"Don't cry. He wouldn't like to see his mommy sad." That made Melissa sobbed louder.
Greyson pulled Melissa into a hug. "Shhh, it's okay. He's in a better place now. Let's pray the best for him."
They stayed like that until Melissa was calm and stopped sobbing. Greyson fed her with the food he cooked, though she insisted at first. She only ate a little before she said she was tired and wanted to rest.
Next Monday, Greyson went to work as usual leaving Melissa alone. Actually Melissa couldn't be left alone in her condition like that. She needed someone or something to distract her from thinking about the baby. Every time she thought of it she would cry her lungs out no matter where she was. Especially in the bathroom.
Melissa slowly walked to the wardrobe to pick out something to wear after she took a long emotional shower. Her eyes caught a sight of a paper bag that was placed at the same space.
