Ever since Greyson got his singing voice back, he worked even harder; writing more lyrics and making new songs. At the same time he tried to find a team that could work with him and believed in him and his art. He knew sooner or later he would get back to his old career and he just couldn't wait for the moment to happen. As for Melissa, her behaviour was changing days by days and Greyson started to notice that but he didn't say anything about it. He thought it was probably because of her hormone or pms.
Greyson focused on writing his lyrics, he wanted to present them to his fans. He wanted to prove that all his hard work was worth their wait. Fortunately, his old manager, Alex Ziabko was willing to work with him again and helped him to find a team that could believe in Greyson's talent. And they successfully did it. Greyson was more than thankful.
The good news reached to Greyson's family and everyone was happy for him. Three years, many things happened that when Greyson looked back, he smiled. Thank God, it happened. It taught him something so valuable. You have to believe in yourself and your abilities. In the end, everything was gonna be just fine.
Greyson knew it was his hardest decision to fly to LA and left Melissa in Oklahoma. It wasn't that Greyson didn't want to bring her along but he had to go because of his commitment to work and he was afraid that Melissa felt lonely when he got busy. At least if she stayed in OK she had his family around if she ever needs anything.
Greyson didn't expect he had to console Melissa three days and three nights until she cooled down. She got emotional easily these days and it made it harder for Greyson to leave her.
"It's only one week and then I'll be back in OKC, I promise." Greyson said one day when Melissa suddenly told him that she was gonna miss him when he was gone.
"Don't forget me when you're there." Melissa pouted. Greyson smiled and pulled her into a hug.
"I won't. How can I forget my beautiful wife?" Said Greyson pinching Melissa's nose. It made her laugh.
And that went for days until the day Greyson flew to LA. Before he departed, they managed to have some words.
"I hope you will always remember that I'll be here waiting for you to come back."
"I haven't even leave yet." Greyson chuckled. "I know that. I love you." And their lips met. It was a goodbye kiss that made both of them hard to pull away.
"Take care." She whispered.
"You too." Greyson replied before they parted because his flight had been announced. He put his sunglasses on, turned around one last time, waving at his family and Melissa before he was gone from their eyes.
"Let's go, Mel." Lisa said, pulling Melissa closer. Melissa's eyes were still looking at the hallway where Greyson just walked.
Greyson's parents offered Melissa to stay with them until Greyson was back to OK but she nicely resisted it. She said she had to get used to being alone and that she had to be independent. They understood and said that if she changed her mind, they would always welcome her to the house.
Every morning Melissa was awakened by a nausea feeling in her throat. She would rush to the bathroom and threw up until her body was weak. Then after that she would be okay again and she also ate a lot. Sometimes she would cry when she thought of Greyson. She wanted him to be there beside her.
It had been three days but Melissa felt like three months since Greyson left to LA. Every night he would call her to check how she was doing and all.
"How's your day today?"
"Boring as usual. How about yours?"
Greyson told Melissa about how he was excited about his new music and that he couldn't wait to finalize it. Greyson and his team were working hard in the studio to finish the recording and some sort of it.
"That's cool. Don't forget to eat. Don't forget to sleep, okay?"
"Aye, aye, captain!" Both of them laughed before he continued. "I miss you so much."
That made Melissa touched. "I miss you too. Come back soon." Melissa felt like she was gonna weep anytime soon.
"I will. Just few more days. Wait for me, okay?"
"Always." And her voice started to change.
Greyson heard sobs from the other side. "Are you crying?"
"N-no." Clearly she was crying and Greyson wasn't stupid to believe that.
"Baby, don't cry. You're making me feel worried now. Don't cry please..."
Melissa was still crying while curling up in the bed.
"Go to sleep, yeah? It's late already. Are you in bed?"
"Yeah." Her small voice was heard.
"Okay, I will sing you to sleep. Put the blanket on."
Melissa did as what Greyson told as he started to sing on the line. Greyson's voice soothed her and made her eyes droopy.
Minutes later, Greyson heard a light snore on the phone. "Mel? Are you asleep?"
When he got no answer he knew that she had fallen asleep. Before he hung up he said, "Goodnight, Mel. I love you."
Four remaining days while waiting for Greyson to fly back in town, Melissa tried to distract herself from thinking about it. She did this and that until she didn't realize that seven days had passed. So one day when she was watching a tv show, she heard someone unlocked the front door and it made her scared to death because she was alone. Quickly she got up and found something to protect herself.
It turned out to be Greyson and Melissa's eyes widened. "Greyson!" She ran to her husband and hugged him so tight that he couldn't breathe.
"Mel-Mel. I can't-"
"Oh, sorry." She loosened the hug. "I've been missing you!"
"I've been missing you too, honey." They leaned forward for a long soft kiss. They had been missing each other.
"Why were you standing over there and had that weird expression on your face?" Greyson asked.
"Because I didn't expect it to be you. I lost my count so I forgot that you would come back today."
"How could you forget about me?" Greyson put a fake pout.
"No, I didn't forget you. I never!"
"I know. Just kidding." Greyson smiled. After removing his coat and jacket he rested his body on the comfy couch. "Ahhh, so exhausted!"
"Let me get you something to drink." Melissa got up but was pulled back on the couch. "Hey!"
"I just got back. Just stay here with me."
"But you must be thirsty or something."
"Yes, I'm thirsty for you." Greyson smirked.
Melissa gave a narrow look at Greyson. "You just got back you know. Don't even start it."
"Start what?"
"Forget it." Melissa rolled her eyes. "You should take a warm bath. It will relax your body. Sitting on a plane for hours must be suck, right?"
"Truly. Hmm..." Greyson rubbed his chin with his thumb and index finger. "Taking a warm bath sounds like a good idea. But if you join me it would be hotter and much better. Now doesn't it sound like a double good idea?"
"No."
"C'monnnnn!" Greyson got up and threw Melissa over his shoulder.
"Greyson! Let me down now! Hey- Grey!"
