"Is it okay for you if we go back to my hometown this weekend and have a sleep over?"

Melissa turned her head to Greyson. "I'm fine with it, plus, it's been a while since we last visited them, right? Except your father of course. You meet him every day at the office."

Greyson nodded. "I've been missing mom's cook. And the house. And Whiskey!"

Melissa chuckled. "Okay, okay. We'll go back to Edmond this weekend. It's not that far anyway. You can always drive to there anytime."

"I know but it's just don't feel right if I go alone." Greyson paused and took Melissa's hands in his. "Besides, grandpa Karl is coming over."

"Really? I think the last time I saw him was..." Melissa stopped and looked down at her lap.

"It's okay. No need to say it out." Greyson rubbed Melissa's back and pulled her closer.

"...was on the day I gave birth."

Melissa surprisingly didn't burst into tears as she usually did. She just had this sad smile on her lips.

"I'm sorry..."

"What for?"

"For what I've done. For lying to you."

Greyson sighed. "We've talked about this. I'm not gonna force you. I'll wait until you're ready."

"But what if–"

"No 'what ifs' anymore." Greyson cut Melissa off. "Christmas is just around the corner. Keep those negative thoughts away and replace them with positive vibes only."

Melissa was so thankful that Greyson was very understand and tolerant. She thought she didn't deserve him as her husband but think of it again, she might be the luckiest girl on earth to be married with someone like Greyson. She felt blessed.

They went back to Edmond on Saturday morning. The journey took about half an hour and Greyson was humming along with the song in the radio while driving, he was happy.

"You seem so cheerful." Melissa looked at Greyson and the way he tapped on the steering wheel. He took a quick glance at her.

"Of course. I'm never not excited about coming back home."

Melissa shook her head and chuckled.

Once they arrived, they were welcomed by Lisa at the door. She rushed to the front door the moment she heard the sound of the car engine.

"Greyson, my boy!" Greyson let his mother hug him so tight that he couldn't breathe.

"Mom..." They pulled away. "Where's dad?"

"He's at the back. I miss you so much. How are you? Oh my, you look skinnier. Did you skip your meal? Did you work too hard?"

Melissa chuckled at how her mother-in-law rambling things to Greyson. Greyson didn't even get the chance to answer when his mother saw Melissa and pulled her into a hug.

"Melissa! How are you dear?" She pulled away and examined Melissa from head to toe. "You also are losing weight. OMG, what happened to you guys?"

Melissa scratched her head and looked at Greyson. "Err, I-"

"Ah, let's talk inside, yeah? The whether is cold outside. Don't want any of you to get sick." Greyson grabbed Melissa's hand and stepped inside trailing behind his mother.

Greyson's grandpa arrived at lunchtime. They had lunch together and talked about random topics.

After lunch, Greyson left Melissa with his grandpa alone. Melissa mentally cursed Greyson for leaving her because she didn't know what to talk about with his grandpa. And at times like that, she didn't know where Lisa and Scott were at when she needed them.
