A/N: this part is gonna be the longest one I've wrote in this book. Since it's Christmas day, I wish a happy Christmas to those who celebrating and I hope you have/had a wonderful time 🎅🏼🎄🎁 🎉

Greyson was driving to his hometown with Melissa on the passenger seat. Leila was sleeping in her baby carseat at the back. They would be spending Christmas in Edmond like they did every year and Melissa thought that that was the best thing ever because she could gather with Greyson's big family, since she had none other than her father.

   "Greyson..."

Greyson hummed in response. His eyes focused on the road.

   "Did I do something wrong?"

This time Greyson couldn't run away like he always did every time Melissa rose that topic up.

   "No." He answered, simply.

"Then why are you avoiding me? I'm so tired of asking you the same question."

"Can we not talk about this? I'm trying to focus on driving here."

"Fine." Melissa folded her arms across her chest and turned her head to the window. Greyson stole a quick glance at her before he focused back to the front. Melissa just decided to close her eyes and sleep the sadness away.

Melissa woke up from her sleep when she felt the car had stopped moving. "Have we arrived?"

Melissa rubbed her eyes, earning no answer from Greyson who lifted Leila up from her baby car seat. That little girl was squirming in Greyson's arms.

"Aw, sorry to wake you, sweetie."

Greyson walked towards Melissa and passed Leila to her while he went to the bonnet to carry their luggage. One luggage is enough for the three of them. And also one baby bag.

- time skip because why not?-

Everyone was there spending the Christmas eve except for Alexa. She spent the eve at her in-laws and would only visit Edmond on Christmas morning. Christmas tree was decorated with beautiful lights and stuff. It really felt like home to Melissa.

"I miss home. I miss mom." She whispered as tears started to form in her eyes.

"Did you say something?"

Melissa turned around to see her mother-in-law who had a sweet smile on her face.

"Ah, Mom...Lisa."

"Dear, are you crying?"

"No-no. It's just...dust." Melissa quickly wiped her cheek and faked a smile.

Lisa frowned. "You're a bad liar. Why, dear? Tell me, why are you sad?"

Melissa couldn't hold his tears anymore. She let out soft sobs as she uttered, "I just miss my mom."

"Awh... Come here, darling." Lisa pulled Melissa for a warm hug while rubbing her back soothingly.

"Thank you, Mom Lisa."

   "Greyson."
