-Time skip because I'm lazy-Melissa wanted to work. She started to think that things would get better and easier if they were both working. Not that they were surviving life or anything like that but she felt like a useless person if she only stayed at home doing nothing while Greyson was out from the morning and got home at night for the sake of getting some money to support their living costs. Sounds cliche.
"Greyson, I have something to talk to you."
Greyson who just got out of the bathroom was drying his hair with a small towel, he looked up to see Melissa on the bed. "What is it? You sound serious." He hanged the towel and walked towards the bed.
"I think I want to work."
Greyson stopped walking and stood by the bed. "No." While shaking his head.
"But-"
"We're both clear about this thing. You don't have to work. Only me." He looked at her while saying that with his stern voice.
"Ah, c'mon! What's the point of having degree if I end up staying at home like a lifeless person I already am? I'm bored, so tired being locked up in this condo. Can't you feel me?" Melissa furrowed her eyebrows while making eye contact with Greyson.
"You can't. I don't care. If you are pregnant-"
"The point is, I'm not even pregnant right now." Melissa rolled her eyes.
"You will. You will get pregnant one day and I don't want you to risk it. You are going to take a good care of yourself and that means you have to stay at home."
"You..I don't get you. We're talking about the present and we both are clear that I'm not carrying a baby in my tummy. Why are you making things hard?"
Greyson ran his hand through his hair. "You are the one who makes things hard. I said you don't have to work, let me be the one who finds money for our family. Can you at least appreciate my effort?"
"I appreciate everything that you do for us but-oh my God how do I say this to make you understand..." Melissa pinched her skin in between her eyebrows while closing her eyes tight.
"Whatever you're gonna say, no means no and that's final. Goodnight." With that, Greyson got in the bed and laid on his side, turning his back to Melissa.
"Ughhhh! You're so annoying!" Melissa groaned. She laid down as well and turned her back to Greyson.
The next day, Greyson felt guilty for what he had said yesterday. Melissa was spacing out in the balcony, thinking about something. He approached Melissa and stood right next to her.
"Hey, I'm sorry for yesterday." But that didn't mean he would approve her request.
Melissa still had her eyes on the view. "No, it's my fault. I'm sorry."
Greyson also was gazing at the view from level 10. "Wanna go out? To the park, and eat some ice cream, maybe?"
Melissa turned her head to look at Greyson and exclaimed, "Yes! Please."
"Let's go!"
They went to the park holding hands. Their little fight yesterday was forgotten but none of them cared and that was the best.
