"There are kingdoms to keep us apart, So we live out our lives in the dark."

He kneels in front of her, as she sits on the couch in their dream home. The lights of the lanterns and candles flicker, the august night sky dark and quiet. Making the room feel even more intimate and private.

"I know I've messed up," Tobias starts, as Tris stares at her hands placed in her lap. Unable to look Tobias in the eye. "more than once I've screwed things up for us. I know that."

He's been out of Rehab for two months now, a third time around in the same game.

"I know there's days when you want to leave," Tris looks up at him when he says that. "but I can't let you do that baby."

His voice is calm but shakes with emotion at the same time.

"I love you Tris," She smiles as the words leave his mouth. "I love you more than anything in the world."

"Lets do this baby," He holds up in his hand a ring, a simple silver band. "Please, marry me."

She can't hide the way her smile grows as the band is slid on her ring finger.

"I love you so much." He whispers, inching closer to her lips.

"I love you too." She breathes out, pressing her lips to his and cutting the distance between them.

Present Day

"You planning to get out of bed there?" Al walks into the bedroom, where his fiancée sits up in bed twirling her engagement ring in her fingers. The diamond shining with the incoming sunlight from the window.

Tris looks up, seeing Al dressed in work clothes with a soft smile on his face.

"Christina's downstairs by the way." He adds, walking closer to her.

Kissing her forehead, Al says goodbye and sends Christina up on his way out.

"Alright, I get a text to come over as soon as I get ready," Christina plops down on the bed beside her. "what's going on?"

Tris sighs, and grabs her phone off the nightstand. Slipping her ring back on her finger where it belongs.

"Zeke sent me this text last night," Tris says opening the message. "and now I don't know what to do about it."

"Where's your mind at girl? Because I can tell you don't want to go, you want to just cut him out

"Where's your mind at girl? Because I can tell you don't want to go, you want to just cut him out. But the way you talk, it's telling me you do want to see him there."

Tris laughs softly, as a tear slips from her eye and rolls down her cheek.

"Don't I owe him more than a phone call?" She whispers, biting down on her lip.
