It takes bravery
Courage
And an iron will
To keep walking
Against the winds
That force you
To stay still
When mistakes
And failures
Keep popping up
On the path
That leads to
Where you want
To be
When people say
Over and over
That you just
Aren't enough
When they're blind
And just can't see
The effort
The pain
The shudder
And the ache
The fist
The strength
The fatigue
On a cold and cruel
Day
Where you want
To give in and sleep
The misery away
But you won't
It means giving up
It means accepting
Defeat
And the feel of it
Is foreign
And unwelcome
Under your weary feet
Taking deep breaths
Clutching your goals
Your dreams
You push
And push and push
At the boulder
That springs up
From yesterday's
Soot
But one more time
Something whispers
One more push
One more shove
And maybe that
You think
Is fine
Maybe that will
Be just enough.
