Ink

I wonder why
Ink replaces blood
And tears replace
Memories
Even when they've
Long died and
Been long buried
I wonder why
An iris around
A pupil
Seems to show
So much
And yet so little
And how sometimes
The words they say
Never seem to go
I wonder why
Time speeds up
Right when you wish
For it to stop
And how it happens
To stretch right on
When you want
To get right off
I wonder why
Tears are salty
When the pain
Is bittersweet
And taste like
Nothing at all
Of the dreams
We used to see
I wonder why
A smile hurts
More than a frown
Unless you see it
I guess
As a smile
Upside down
I wonder why
The purpose
Of a heart
Is the same one
We scold it for
And I wonder why
Keys seem to lock
Just another door
And why every
Single day
Ends up being
Such a chore
And I wonder why
Feelings change
So fast and yet
So slow
Always on the move
But never with
The flow
But most of all
I wonder
Why my tears
Come out as ink
When all I've done
Is open my heart
And let my
Bloody words
Tip, drip, and sink.
