"Don't be nervous" Aman says grabbing my attention. I'm in the worst condition right now, we are heading to my parents house and I'm scared shitless. I look over at Aman and he's got one hand on the steering wheel, while the other is tangled up with mine. The second he saw me wearing my red saree, he wouldn't stop staring at me. When I saw him wearing his tux my heart fluttered at the beautiful sight. All his features are perfect, and he so sweet and caring. But there's a side of him that he's hiding from me, there's something he can't tell me. He turns into a totally different person around 'the group'. Yes. I named that group he's always snooping around with, 'the group'. Right now he's showing the side that I've fallen in love with. When we got into the car he grabbed my hand and reassured me that things would be fine. With that we started driving, his group watched from afar as we left the college. The second we were a mile away from the college it was like Aman was a bit tense. But I didn't care because I was in heaven, his hand was intwined with mine.
"I don't want to mess up" I sighed.
"Your not the one who should be nervous, your their daughter. I'm just your boyfriend." Aman laughed. He's been calling himself my boyfriend a lot after I told him about what we had to do. It always makes me blush.
"Yeah okay" I scoffed trying to play off the fact that I was a blushing mess.
"Don't deny the fact that you like me calling myself your boyfriend." Aman smirked while looking over at me briefly. Then he darted his eyes back on the road. My heart was beating a mile a minute now, he knows I like him. I guess it's very apparent, because he tightened his grip on my hand. After a few more minutes of driving we reached the development where my parents live. Aman didn't looked fazed by the mansions surrounding us. Every time we moved, we moved into a mansion. My parents liked the luxurious life, I kinda didn't. We pasted the houses and then finally we came to my parents. It definitely was one of the biggest homes around here. Aman turned off the engine and finally released my hand. He looked at me and smiled.
"We can do this" he said before hopping out of the car. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

I hope this works.

Then my car door opened and Aman was standing there with his hand extended and a smile on. I smiled and unbuckled my seatbelt, I gladly took his hand and got out of the car. There were two garages, two black BMW's, three white Porsche's, one red Corvette, a fountain, huge beams holding up a hangover above the grand entrance, and then I caught a glimpse of a maid cleaning the inside of the house. The sound of the car door slamming shut brought me out of my thoughts. Aman smiled at me and I think he could tell I was tense.
"Hey, things will be fine. I promise" he said warmly. He grabbed my hand and we started towards the grand entrance. With each step I felt weaker and weaker. When the door was right at the touch of my fingertips I held onto Aman's hand tighter. I was scared I couldn't pull this off. Aman rung the door bell once and we waited. He looked confident and not a pinch of nervousness was etched on his face. Me on the other hand... I was ready to run the other direction. But Aman had my hand in his and somehow that made me feel safe. The doors started pulling back and I tightened my grip in Aman's hand. I plastered on a smile and braced myself to see my parents. There they stood. My mom and dad. Looking at us, my mom smiling, my dad... he had many emotions running through his face and I couldn't comprehend a single one. He wasn't looking at me, but he was looking at Aman. Finally I could comprehend one of the emotions in his face. Happiness. My dad was happy? Maybe I'm wrong... but I see happiness in his face.
"Betee" my mom said pulling me into a bone crushing hug. I had let go of Aman's hand so he stood there smiling like an idiot. As my mom let go of me she looked at Aman and smiled
"So this must be the one?" My mom said lifting Aman's chin. He smiled at her and bent down to take her blessings. My mother gladly accepted him into the house while my father had to do what fathers do.
"I would like a word with him please." My dad said plastering on the fakest smile I've ever seen. Aman smiled and just nodded his head, still showing no fear.
"Come with me" my dad said turning around and walking away with Aman following behind him.

Aman and my father spoke for about half an hour and after they spoke, it was like they've been best buds for years. Laughing. Talking. And my dad being surprisingly nice. My mom and I joined in and we were like one big happy family. But something was off. Yes everyone was happy and I was happy. But after Aman and my father talked I felt like Aman was on guard. Any sudden movement and his eye darted to the movement. I couldn't tell exactly what was going on but it was pushed towards the back of my mind. You wanna know why? My father said that Aman was the perfect boy for me. And! Aman has been glued to my side all night. Holding my hand, being sweet, being careful. I could fall in love with him over and over and never get tired of it. Currently, we are getting ready to leave. It's late and we have classes tomorrow. As we are heading towards the front door I catch a glimpse of a picture. It makes my heart hurt and my eyes fill with tears. I just need to be strong for a few more seconds. I look at Aman who is smiling and holding my hand tightly. Somehow, after seeing this I feel relaxed. I blink away my tears and say goodbye to my parents. We plan to have dinner again sometime and just like that Aman and I are on our way back to college. Still never letting go of my hand as he drives.
"Thank you" I said warmly flashing a small smile at him.
"No need to thank me sweetheart" he said while lifting our intwined hands and placing a kiss on the back of my hand.
"I really like you." I mumbled very softly. So only I could hear it. With the radio playing he wouldn't have heard it. But he never fails to surprise me. Just as we made the turn into the college he held my hand close to him and I could see a faint smile tugging at his lips. Then he whispered a little louder than I did.
"I really I like you too."
