                               ***************
I wake up to the sound of soft humming coming from next to me. I blink my eyes a couple times and see Melina laying next to me with a smile on. The humming is coming from her as she makes small circles on her belly.
"Good morning baby," I say sitting up slowly. Even though my accident was five months ago, I still have the pain in my side and back. The scar is pretty bad but it will heal with time. Melina sits up and snuggles herself into my arms.
"Good morning," she smiles. God she is beautiful.
"You know your due any day now," I whisper and she smiles even bigger. She is so excited to have this baby. Our baby. And in these past five months, I've fallen in love with Melina. I've fallen in love with my wife, I've fallen in love with someone I never thought I could fall in love with. I just haven't told her yet. I know that when we see our newborn baby I will just say it with meaning and everything will be perfect.
"We should get up, your parents are here going to be here soon," I say kissing her temple.
"They what?!" Melina says with excitement in her voice.
"Haan, invited them over for the a week or two,"  I smile sitting up a bit. I see tears forming in Melina's eyes and quickly give her a kiss before she does cry.
"Thank you Aman," she says smiling at me.
"Anything for you Melina," I smile back. She blushes heavily as I laugh getting out of the bed. She follows my lead and gets out of bed too, but slower than me because well... she's very pregnant. I walk into the bathroom and pull my shirt up and over my head then drop it to the floor. I look in the mirror and raise my one arm, examining the scar that was a bad wound just five months ago. Man, I can't believe Kaal is back. Everything has been silent since I had my accident... maybe just a little too silent... I haven't even really seen Aisha since she left the hospital, which was before me. I wonder how she's doing... she got shot pretty badly. She's my best friend, I hope she's been doing okay these past couple of months. I miss her.
"Aman, your getting a call," Melina's voice says ripping through my thoughts. I turn towards her and my work phone is in her hands. I walk over and grab my phone smiling as I answer the call from Aisha.
"Aish! Where have you been? Are you okay? Why haven't you been-" I start to say but she cuts me off in the middle of my sentence.
"You need to get to headquarters right now," she says in a tone that freaks me out.
"Aish what's going on?" I ask hesitantly.
"Repeat Aman, repeat 792," Aisha says a little aggressively into the phone. I feel my breathing stop for a second before I realize what's happening. No. This can't be happening... why... Who...

******************

"Who? Who is it!" I yell for the hundredth time.
"Aman we don't know! All we know is that it's a well trained agent and that the attack will happen anytime soon, Aman if we knew who was going to be attacked we would have agents protecting that one person very well," Aisha explains trying to get me to understand. I walk around the table again breathing heavily. A death threat. Kaal sent a death threat to one of the agents here. He's going to attack anytime soon! And I can't stop him because I don't know who he is attacking! I walk over to Aisha and surprise her by pulling her into a bone crushing hug. I haven't seen her in months and I need to calm down before I lose my mind.
"I've missed you Aish, are you okay?" I sigh closing my eyes.
"I've missed you too, yes I'm okay, it's been crazy since the accident... I'm so sorry about what happened," Aisha says hugging me a little less tighter.
"We both were hurt Aisha, it's not your fault, at least we are both still alive Naa?" I say pulling back from our hug and smiling at her. She nods her head and smiles right back at me. I get ready to ask her something about the threat when I hear someone yelling my name. The voice comes closer and I recognize it, it's Courtney.
"Aman!" She yells once more entering the room out of breath.
"Kya hua Court?" I ask stepping towards her.
"Melina!" Is all she gets out while trying to catch her breath.
"What about her?" I ask walking right up in front of Courtney.
"The baby is on the way!" Courtney says smiling and laughing. I feel a smile reach my lips as I feel excitement rushing through my body. Courtney says something but all sounds are blocked out from my excitement. She turns on her heels and starts running.
"Aman lets go!" Aisha says grabbing my hand and running after Courtney. We run to the garage where a car is waiting for us. Courtney tells where the hospital is and we start driving. I can't believe this! I can't believe she's having our baby! The drive felt like seconds and soon we reached the hospital. I smiled as I opened the door and fell out of the car. I stumbled to my feet and ran into the hospital with excitement coursing through my body. I ask the lady at the desk about Melina and tell her I'm her husband and she tells me where Melina is. I've never been so excited about something ever in my life. I rush to the room and hear yelling. I open the door and Melina is there pushing the baby out, with doctors and nurses surrounding the bed. I smile and walk over to her.
"I'm here baby," I say and place my hand out. She quickly glances at me, smile and grabs my hand holding onto it tightly. I encourage her to push and seconds later I hear the crying of my baby. Of our baby. Melina opens her eyes and starts to catch her breathe as she admires our new baby girl. I cut the umbilical cord and the nurses take my daughter to clean her up. I walk back to Melina and smile at her. Beads of sweat are falling from her head as she relaxes in the bed.
"You couldn't keep her in for a little while longer?" I ask laughing a bit. She playfully hits my chest and laughs. The doctors come over and place our baby girl in Melina's arms. I get a seat and sit next to Melina's hospital bed as she admires our baby girl.
"She's..."
"Beautiful," Melina says finishing my sentence.
"This is just the start baby," I whisper to Melina she looks over at me and smiles with tears falling from her eyes.
"Thank you Aman," she says with more tears leaving her eyes.
"For?" I question while wiping away her tears.
"You have given me the chance to be a mother, given me a home, given me warmth, given me all these things I never thought I could get from you," Melina replies with her words catching in the back of her throat. I smile at her and realize now is when I should say it.
"I did it because I love you," I say confidently. Melina's face falls and more tears leave her eyes.
"You... you... you what?" She stutters out.
"Yes. I love you. I said it, and I mean it. I love you Melina, I wouldn't be as happy as I am now that I am with you. I love you and I realize you have loved me a long time... and I have not loved back... but now I want more than anything to love you forever," I say truthfully to her. She smiles as her tears continue to fall.
"I love you too," she says in a whisper. I stand up and lean over giving her a kiss. I look at our baby and smile, this is our family. This... this is my future.
"Names?" Melina asks as our baby girl opens her eyes staring at us.
"Not too sure, but she has your eyes," I smile. Melina laughs lightly and looks at our baby girl with love.
"How about Adira?" Melina asks looking at me. Adira, our little girl.
"I like Adira," I smile looking at Adira. This is it, our family. Everything is perfect, I love my wife and she loves me. I love my daughter, our baby Adira. Everything is finally falling into place, and I'm ready for whatever will come next... or so I thought I was...
