I am still shocked about Aman's past.... I mean just a couple months ago I didn't even know he existed. Now we are engaged to be married and I know almost everything about him. One things that kept bothering me after he told me everything was the fact his sister, Melissa, picked up and left him. It's not right. So I talked furthermore with my father and found out where she is. Tina decided to come with me because according to my dad, "it's not safe!" So here we are almost to our destination.
"Turn into this house, this is it," Tina says nervously. I turn and see an amazing mansion in front of me. Is everyone rich?! I pull up behind a black mustang and get out of the car.
"I'm going to stay here, text if anything goes wrong or anything happens," Tina says leaning against the car.
"Your not coming?" I ask stepping towards her.
"Priya, your the only one who can try and convince her, if she sees me she'll freak," Tina says with a little bit of pain in her voice.
"But she hasn't seen you in three years," I say a bit worried I will mess things up.
"Exactly, please Priya, I'm only a message away," Tina says pleadingly.
"Okay okay," I sigh and turn facing the mansion. I slowly start towards the house and as I get closer I feel my confidence coming back to me. I walk right up and ring the door bell and step back waiting for someone to answer. Seconds later, she answers. I smile and look at her getting the image saved to my long term memory.
"Can I help you?" She asks politely.
"As a matter of a fact you can, this is about someone you know, and if you wouldn't mind can I come in and talk?" I say hesitantly. She hesitates for a second but then gladly welcomes me in. I walk in and she guides me to a kitchen, offering me a drink. I say no and make myself comfortable at the kitchen table as she comes and sits across from me.
"Your Melissa right?" I question.
"Haan, you said you had something to talk about with someone I know?" She says placing her cup on the table.
"Oh yes, it's um..." I say losing my confidence.
"It's about your um... your..." I say not able to form the words 'your brother'
"Are you okay?" She asks looking a bit worried.
"It's about your brother," I finally say looking at her hesitantly. I expected her to look angry and pissed, but instead she looks worried as all hell.
"Why? What's happened to him? Is he alright? Has he-" she says starting to ramble but I cut her off.
"He, he's fine..." I say trying to sound confident.
"Well then... who are you?" She asks tilting her head to the side slightly.
"I'm his fiancée," I say confidently. Her lips form into a smile and tears fill her eyes.
"You are!" She says excitedly in a whisper.
"I am,"
"Oh! Well that's great news give him my wishes?" Melissa says wiping away her tears.
"Your his sister, why don't you?" I ask hesitantly.
"I could never face him after..." Melissa says looking down unable to finish her sentence.
"After you thought he couldn't save your parents? Melissa, the wounds they had were too bad, the amount of blood lose and bacteria... it would have been a miracle if they got to the hospital and survived. But you picked up and left at the worst of times, your brother has been fighting for his own life... imagine how hard it is to have to kill your own brothers, watch your parents die, watch your wife and child die and your helpless to the situation? It's exactly what Aman went through, and when he needed his only remaining family you picked up and left," I say trying to get through to Melissa. She looks up from the table and stares like she's never seen a person before. Then she starts hysterically crying. I move my seat closer to her and try to comfort her. Even if I can't get her back involved with Aman, she will be my sister-in-law.
"He'll never forgive me now!" She exclaims sobbing.
"He will, he will Melissa, we've talked about it I know he will! He loves you a lot, your his sister... I know he will forgive you!" I say trying to encourage her to see him.
"But I've been so horrible just leaving!" She says looking at me with red eyes.
"That's the past, now is now... he loves you a lot and I know he can forgive you... your his sister why wouldn't he?" I ask trying to get another answer.
"Because it's not just him I'm worried about, Tina too. She would never forgive me..." Melissa claims letting a tear fall from her eyes again.
"Your wrong," a voice calls out from behind Melissa. Melissa turns around and there stands Tina. She walks closer to us and Melissa tenses in her seat.
"Hey sis," Tina sighs out smiling with tears forming in her eyes. Melissa slowly stands up and a couple seconds later collapses in her sisters arms, hugging her and crying out her feelings.
"I thought you hated me!" Melissa sobs.
"I could never hate you! Your my sister... and also Aman's," Tina says with tears leaving her eyes.
"Oh god does he hate me?!" Melissa says pulling back from the hug and staring at Tina intensely.
"Nope, Mel... come home. He needs you, he misses you. A lot. You should at least come for the engagement, he wants you there... but he has no contact with you to ask. Please Mel, for mom and Dad?" Tina pleads. I walk around the table and stand behind Tina with hope heavy in my heart. Melissa starts to form a smile on her lips and slowly nods her head with tears falling from her eyes.
"I'll come home," Melissa smiles and Tina pulls her into a hug. I taste saltwater on my tongue and realize I'm crying. I smile and wipe away my tears.
"Come help me pack?" Melissa asks grabbing my attention.
"Sure," Tina and I say almost in unison. We all walk upstairs with Melissa leading the way and Tina smiling from ear to ear.
"You know, I should make a good first three year seeing impression," Melissa says walking into her closet.
"Oh I've missed your confusing sentences," Tina laughs jumping onto Melissa's bed.
"Shut up," Melissa yells from the closet. I laugh and walk over to her dresser where a picture catches my eye. It's a picture of Aman's family. I pick it up in my hands and examine it... why does this picture look so familiar...
"That was taken a month before Aman was married," Melissa says coming up next to me.
"It looks so familiar..." I whisper looking at how happy everyone looks.
"Hey Mel, guess how Priya met Aman," Tina says smirking at her sister and me. I smile thinking back to the very first time I met Aman and can't believe how far we've come together. Through the good, the bad, and the ugly... but I love him, and that will never change.
"How?" Melissa smiles walking back towards the closet.
"Undercover assignment!" Tina says excitedly. Melissa stops dead in her tracks and turns looking at Tina with fear in her eyes.
"He's still an FBI agent?" Melissa asks with her voice catching in the back of her throat.
"Haan, him me Aish, Gene... we all still work for the FBI," Tina says climbing off the bed.
"Wow, and his legacy lives on!" Melissa says trying to smile.
"Mel, he's fine... hurry up and change, pack a bag and we can go see him," Tina smiles reassuring her sister. Mel smiles faintly and turns going back into the closet.

******************

"Wow!" Melissa gasps as we pull up to the gates to be buzzed into headquarters.
"It looks so different!" She exclaims staring wide eyed at headquarters.
"There was a lot of construction to make it safer after the incident," Tina says as she continues to drive up the long path.
"New recruits..." Melissa says looking at the people training.
"Haan, we just started training our new group," Tina says pulling into the garage.
"I'm suddenly very nervous," Melissa laughs nervously as we drive into a parking spot and park the car.
"Don't be," I smile and she smiles back. We all clamber out of the car and Melissa fixes her saree. We walk out of the garage and to the entrance with people glancing at the new company we brought to headquarters. We walk inside and standing right there as we enter is my dad. He just stares at Melissa and she stares right back.
"Sir," she says bowing her head in respect.
"You quit remember? No need to call me sir," my father smiles.
"I still respect you sir, and I respect all the things you've done for me and my family," Melissa says standing a bit straighter.
"Well, welcome home, haven't seen you in three years... how've you been kid?" My father says warmly.
"Not so good, been missing this place... everyone here, my brother... just this. But it's good to be home," Melissa smiles. My father lets out a hearty laugh and looks at me then back to Melissa.
"I'm assuming you've met my daughter?" My father asks raising his eyebrow at me.
"Haan and she is going to marry my brother!" Melissa says excitedly.
"Haan she is, if you'd excuse me I have a meeting with the new trainees," my father says excusing himself. He smiles one last time at us before disappearing into headquarters. We all head towards the back, where the shooting range is and hear commotion outside as we reach the exit. When we are outside I see Aisha with panic on her face and the group all yelling at one another.
"Well it was your responsibility!" Alina yells in Rajveer's face.
"My responsibility is to do good for my country not sit around and watch a grown man!" Rajveer says causing Aisha to walk over and slap him.
"Don't you dare Rajveer, your walking on very thin ice," she warns pointing a finger in his face.
"You have some nerve, I mean look at everything's he's done for you!" Courtney throws out into the unknown argument.
"Look who's talking, control your friend here Gene," Rajveer says and Gene starts to yell at Rajveer.
"Knock it off all of you!" Tina says breaking the yelling and filling the air with silence.
"What the hell has gotten into all of your heads! We are team remember! We fight together not against each other! What the hells going on here anyway," Tina says walking up to them with annoyance in her tone. Kabir leans in and whispers something to her and to witch she gasps and turns to Rajveer with a look that could kill. Then Aisha looks over to Melissa and I and her jaw drops.
"Melissa?" Aisha says in disbelief. Then the whole group turns to look at us. They all look shocked.
"Hey... it's um... been a while hasn't it?" Melissa says hesitantly but smiling.
"Perfect example of my mistake right there!" Rajveer says pointing at Melissa.
"Rajveer! Her situation was different! You dumb fuck!" Alina spats into his face.
"Where's Aman?" Melissa asks hesitantly looking at everyone. Everyone glares at Rajveer for a second then they look back at us.
"We don't know," Kabir says exasperated.
"What..." Melissa and I breath out in unison.
"We don't know where Aman is."
