Present day✨

I sit watching Aman nervously tell his past to me while bawling his eyes out. Bawling all his emotions out, bawling for his lost love.
"I should have killed Kaal while I had the chance. I should've ended that bastards life while I had the chance!" Aman shouts slightly and pull him into my arms again, hugging him tightly. He hugs back and cries hard into my shirt. He lifts his head slightly and I just look at him with blurry vision.
"I killed my brothers, lost my mother and father, lost my in laws, lost my wife... my baby" Aman says breaking down in tears again. I hold him as he cries in my arms and hugs me as if his life depends on it.
"Aman, you still have Tina... what happened to Melissa?" I ask and he sits up staring at me with teary eyes.
"She refuses to ever see me again after letting our parents die... but it wasn't my fault, it wasn't my fault Priya!" He says with a shaky tone. I hug him tightly and never want to let him go. He's been through so much... he's loved, he's been hurt... he's still fighting. I look around the room and see everyone in tears, Including me. Who wants to go through so much hell...
"But hey, Aman look who you have now... Priya! And you love her Naa?" Aisha says smiling and wiping away her tears.
"Haan I love her more then anything," Aman says lifting his head and smiling weakly at me.
"Your my first love Aman," I smile wiping away his tears.
"I feel honored!" He laughs smiling lovingly at me.
"You've been through a lot Aman, and I want you to know... I love you more than anything. I am so happy we are getting married, because it's a new chapter for both of us," I say to Aman smiling. He smiles back and leans to me placing a kiss on my lips. I wither slightly at the feeling of his lips against mine but kiss him back. I hear 'awes' coming from everyone in the room and feel a blush filling my cheeks. I pull away from our kiss and smile awkwardly.
"I approve of this pairing," Tina says clapping her hands excitedly. Aman laughs pulling me into his arms and I happily hug him. Tina is basically his only family now, Melissa wants nothing to do with him, but Tina is here. She stood by him.
"Aman, everything okay in here?" I look over and see my dad standing in the doorway of the kitchen.
"Oh sorry sir, it's just... you know what day it is today," Aman says sitting up straight.
"Haan, and sun is down you ready?" My dad asks Aman. Aman smiles faintly and nods his head at my father.
"Priya come with us," Aman says as everyone starts to leave following my father.
"Where?" I ask as we intwine our fingers together.
"Every year on this date, we set lanterns up in the sky as a symbol of everyone who passed, we chose lanterns because Melina loved them... seeing them in the sky. It wasn't just my family that was ruined, many other agents had died for their country on this day. When the sun goes down, we set off lanterns in the sky... sun is down and the time is now, come with me?" Aman says with hope, hurt, and love in his eyes. I smile nodding my head feeling unable to speak. He smiles back at me and I follow Aman as we go to where the shooting range is. We walk a little beyond it to where there is a clear opening surrounded by willow trees. And there my father and the group stand all with a lantern in their hands. There are two remaining so I grab one too.
"Ready?" My father says looking at Aman. Aman just nods his head. Everyone sets their lanterns up into the sky and Aman hesitates before whispering and setting it up in the sky.
"This is for you Melina and Adira, we miss you."
I feel tears stinging my eyes seeing the pain that Aman is fighting today. Today reminds him of the hell that Kaal cause to his family. To this day, my fiancée is still fighting even after everything bad and worse has happened. Aman looks at me and smiles faintly. I place a kiss on his lips and he wraps his arms around me, hugging me while kissing me passionately. I love him so much. He pulls back from our kiss, and smiles at me lovingly.
"Dad, we are going to get some rest," I say looking over at my father who too has tears in his eyes.
"Haan okay betee," he says smiling. Aman and I walk back into headquarters with his arm wrapped around my waist and we walk to the elevator. When we reach I press the up button and wait for the elevator. The door pings open and we walk in, he presses our floor number and I see he is shaking.

I shouldn't have asked...

"Nahin you needed to know," Aman says looking at me with a small smile.
"Did I say that out loud?" I question knowing the answer.
"Haan," he laughs out turning fully at me. He pulls me into a hug which I willingly accept. I hear the ping but he doesn't let go, instead he picks me up and a giggle erupts from my throat as he walks us out of the elevator. I smile the entire time keeping my arms around his neck and my legs wrapped around his waist as he carried us to our bedroom. When we reach our bedroom he walks in and closes the door with his foot.
"Aman put me down," I laugh as he continues to carry me.
"Nahin," he says in childish voice.
"Aman," I say playfully and then I'm being plopped down softly onto the bed. He hovers above me with sadness clouding his eyes.
"If there is anything else you need to know, just ask," he whispers.
"I think that's enough for today hmm?" I say making him smile at me.
"I love you Priya," he says moving down a bit and collapsing into my arms. I hold him close to me as we lay on the bed.
"I love you too Aman," I sigh smiling. This chapter in our lives won't be ruined, not for him again. He's a fighter, my fighter. And Gosh... I love him so much.
