Strange. The only word that has been stuck in my mind. Strange. About three weeks ago I was looking out my window and out of nowhere saw Aman and Aisha walking across the fields. Aisha wasn't looking happy and Aman looked annoyed but it was like he had to take it. One thing lead to another and Aisha ended the whole thing by slapping him. It was kind of heart wrenching to watch and I don't know why. I didn't have the guts to say anything that day or even now... But ever since the two have played things cool and act normal and friendly around each other. The least I can do is try to talk to one of them now, it's the weekend. Two days of just a moment to breathe and catch up on some course work. But also I need to find out a bit of things. Aman and I have started to become close friends and Aisha? We have been tight since the day she made my bed. Oh! And the charm bracelet I got I've worn nonstop, it's just to beautiful to take off. In The past three weeks, I also received a bunch of other gifts with notes. Some of the gifts I've received were edible and didn't last long. But that was three weeks, and now I'm sitting in my dorm with a pen between my teeth and a textbook placed in my lap.
"Knock knock" a voice said from the other side of my door.
"Did you forget your key again" I groaned crawling off my bed and walking to the door.
"Sorry!" Aisha said as I opened the door and she walked in grabbing a bag from under her bed.
"Where are you going?" I asked plopping down on my bed.
"Oh... uh I'm visiting a friend." Aisha replied while stuffing a pair of joggers into her bag.
"When will you be back?" I asked biting on my pen.
"Late on Sunday, be safe." Aisha said and left our dorm. I sat for a minute gathering my thoughts. Then I made up my mind I got up and grabbed my dorm key and went to Aman's dorm. I bit my lip and I knocked twice before the door pulled back and I was greeted with the face of Aman. He smiled at me and I returned the smile.
"Hey" he beamed while leaning against the doorframe.
"Hey is your roommate in? I wanted to... um hang out? With you... just you?" I said a little unsure and bit my lip trying to find the right words to say. Aman chuckled and I felt myself burning up cause I basically just embarrassed the crap out of myself.
"I don't have a roommate, it's just me" he laughed.
"Oh" I said biting my lip even more.
"You can come in, and we can hang out" Aman smiled and I smiled back. I walked into his dorm and expected to find it being a total mess. But I was wrong. Totally, totally wrong. The room was spotless and smelled like cologne. The same one that roams around Aman's body 24/7.
"Wow" I mumbled looking at the spotless features.
"Didn't expect me to be a clean person huh?" He chuckled as he plopped down on his bed. To say his dorm was big, was an understatement. He has so much space. It's the luxury dorm. Literally.
"Chin up sweetheart" Aman laughed and I didn't even realize my mouth was open. I quickly shut it and put on a smile.
"Can we talk?" I asked sitting down next to Aman. Even his bed was luxury.
"Sure! What's on your mind" he beamed.
"Three weeks ago..." I started. "I saw you and Aisha walking across the fields.... and she slapped you. Are you guys like..." I stopped not knowing the right words to say. Aman smiled sadly at me. He had every right to tell me to go away or not tell me anything on that note.
"Yeah, she did slap me. We got into a little bit of a disagreement that's all." Aman explained. I felt relief wash over me, I was scared that something was going on between them. And I couldn't even tell you why I was so scared!
"Oh, good" I sighed hoping he didn't hear. I slumped against the wall while sitting with my hands folded in my lap. Aman stood up and place his hands down by my feet smirking at me.
"Why? Anything you wanna tell me Priya?" His gaze captured mine and I held it there. I couldn't find any words to say. I'm sat here staring into the most intense eyes I've seen in a long time.
"N... no. I just wanted to make sure my two friends aren't fighting" I shrug finally finding my voice. Aman laughs and comes close to my face, I feel my heart leap from my chest and freeze as his gaze is on my lips then my nose then my eyes.
"You lie very badly" he said pursing his lips.
"I... I'm not... I'm not lying"I stutter as I burn up from embarrassment.
"You can't lie to me" he said as his face moved closer to mine. What was happening?!
This can't happen!
But I want it to happen!
No!
Yes!
No!
Yes!
No!
Yes!
Then just as his lips are a centimeter from mine, someone knocks viciously on his door making us jump. I hear Aman curse under his breath as he stands up and walks over to the door. I sigh in relief and a bit of sadness. The door flies open and I wince. I look over and see...
