I was awaken by a force pulling me backwards. I fluttered my eyes open and tried to move my arms but couldn't. I felt strong arms wrapped around me and saw rain hitting the window. It was a gloomy day. There were tissues on the floor and the room wasn't mine. It was Aman's dorm. Suddenly like I've just been hit with a ton of trucks, memories from yesterday come flooding back into my head. I pry myself out of Aman's arms and turn around to face him. He's sleeping peacefully.
We didn't do anything... did we?
Oh shit!
I can't remember!
I shook Aman's arm slightly and he groaned. He flipped around onto his back and yawned. He started opening his eyes and I moved over on the bed a bit. He looked over in my direction then back at the ceiling. His eyes widened, he sat straight up and he looked at me again.
"Priya?" He said as a smile started forming at his lips.
"Haan" I laughed a bit by his shock of seeing me here.
"Umm... sleep well?" He asked running his hand through hair and blushing a bit.
"Except for your arms wrapped around me all night... yeah." I laughed. Aman blushed a deep shade of red and cracked his knuckles flashing a smile at me.
"Sorry" he chuckled.
"We... we uh didn't do anything last night?" I asked swallowing hard on my words.
"No," he smiled.
"Thank god" I said feeling relieved I didn't make any mistakes. I love Aman I really do, but I just can't sleep with him like that yet.
"Why? Don't you like me?" Aman said inching closer to me. I held my breath and watched his expressions change.
"Yes..." I breathed out while closing my eyes. I felt a warm kiss being placed on my cheek and it sent tingles all through my body. I opened my eyes slowly, Aman was in my sight. He was smiling sweetly and his eyes looked tired with sleep.
"I should go." I sighed crawling out of the bed and grabbing my shoes. I felt Aman's gaze on me while I tied up my converse. Yeah. I was that girl who wore converse with a dress. As I went to grab my phone and dorm key I felt Aman placing his hands on my shoulders.
"I promise" he whispered into my ear sending a shiver down my spine. He was referring to yesterday. When he promised not to leave me, when I told him about Gracie, when I told him about my memory lose, when I told him I can't remember what happened which kills me, when I told him what yesterday was. He was so understanding but I couldn't help but notice that his phone kept blowing up. He put everything aside for me, all his problems and worries to listen to me and comfort me.
"I'll see you Aman" I said beginning to work my way out of his arms.
"In class" he smiled and released me from his arms. I walked to the door and gave him one last smile before closing the door behind me and walking to my dorm. I placed my dorm key in the lock and turned the knob. The second I was in full view, Aisha's eyes darted to me and she dropped everything rushing over to me.
"Where the hell have you been? I was worried sick! You could've called me!" She said examining me.
"I was with Aman, I'm fine. We got talking and just kept talking... until I guess we just fell asleep." I said explainingly.
"Aman!" She practically yelled. She was mad, but there was a hint of excitement in her tone.
"Yeah" I said confused. "Why?" I asked feeling concerned. She looked at me with anger flowing through her eyes. It was like she had some sort of epiphany and ran to her bed. She packed her bag fast and then started towards me again. This time with a smile plastered on her face and small pools of tears forming in her eyes.
"I'm happy for you." She smiled and brushed past me. I watched as she walked down the hallway and stopped before turning. She took out her phone and answered a phone call. I could almost feel the fear eminating off of her as she pushed through the students to the exit. I shake it off and go into the dorm to change. I throw on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt, brush my teeth and hair and head out. I'm walking to class feeling good. I actually can't wait to see Aman, sit next to him in class and admire his presence. He made me forget my worries and held me close to his heart last night. I walk into class and take a seat, I save a seat for Aman with my books. I watch as everyone comes rushing into class, everyone except Aman. When the professor starts teaching I get worried, Aman isn't here. Why isn't he here? The second class is over I try to find Aman, he's not anywhere. I spot Gene walking to one of his classes, and I run up to him to see if he knows where Aman is.
"Gene!" I yelled grabbing his attention. He spun around and looked at me with a small friendly smile.
"Hey Priya" he said warmly.
"Do you know where Aman is? He wasn't in class" I said with worry rising in my voice.
"Haven't seen him" he says and starts to walk away.
"Try his number maybe?" Gene said kindly and continued walking to his class. Yes! I could call him! I whipped out my phone and dialed his number quickly. I put the phone to my ear and not even a second later I felt my heart shattering.I'm sorry. Your call cannot be completed. This number isn't valid, please check the number you've dialed. Goodbye.
