"He's going into hypovolemic shock!"
"Stay with us Aman we are almost there!"
"Critical condition!"
"Don't know if we can save him!"
"Too much blood loss!"
"Over 45 percent of his blood lost!"
"C'mon we're loosing him!"
"Clear!"
"Clear!"
"Clear!"
I rise from the bed breathing heavy feeling myself sweating from fear. I look around the room and feel tears rushing down my face uncontrollably. I burry my head in my hands and sob silently. My heart aching with pain as I see the picture of Aman slowly dieing away. His last words to me before he left.
"I love you."
The pain in his eyes when he let me go. The sound of gunshots filling my ears from the bathroom with Aisha wincing at each one. It all happened a week ago and it haunts my dreams every night since! I feel a hand land on my shoulder and I look up seeing Aisha standing there as sad small faint smile on her face as she sits down in the side of my bed.
"Can't sleep?" She questions a tear running down her cheek. I nod my head and she laughs out a bit.
"I've known Aman six years, when we first met we stayed here at this place and I had night terrors... he'd sit in my room and tell me stories funny ones, and I'd go back to sleep." Aisha says smiling at the ground.
"What is this place?" I ask wiping away my tears.
"This is what we call Headquarters, this is where I live, where Aman lives, where Courtney lives, where Gene lives... and many others. We spend a lot of time working here." Aisha explains standing up.
"Aman lives here?" I question looking at Aisha who is looking out the window.
"He had lived here for a while now, so have I," she says turning around tears pricking her eyes.
"Aisha... are you guys... a thing?" I question standing up and slowly walking towards her.
"Hell no! He's my best friend, the only reason we kissed was because we needed to seem convincing to this guy named Kaal. But I promise on my husband's life that Aman and I are nothing." Aisha says laughing a bit.
"Wait a minute! Husband? Your married?!" I question breathlessly. She smiles wiping away the tears forming in her eyes.
"Haan," she giggles slightly. She looks as if she is going to say something else but is interrupted by my door slamming open and hitting the wall loudly sending me around and looking at who is there. Courtney is standing there with a stream of fresh tears running down her face.
"Priya! Aisha!" She says almost breathlessly.
"Kya hua?" Aisha questions taking a step towards Courtney. I follow behind her feeling my heart rate rising.
"Vah jaag raha hai!" Courtney cries. I feel my knees going weak and my heart stopping as I see Aisha run up to Courtney. They nod their heads at each other and motion me over.
"Chhallo Priya!" Aisha shouts. They race out of the door and I feel myself running extremely fast after them. The wind through the huge house rushing through me as we run to our well known destination. I feel tears rushing down my face as I continue running as fast as I can. Aisha and Courtney are way faster and obviously more fit then me. They turn a corner and I turn bumping into the wall slightly but picking up my pace and running after them. We turn again and this time there is a glowing sign hanging from the ceiling.
M.T. Center.
I stop abruptly and take a deep breath.
"Priya?" Aisha says spinning around at the door.
"Are you coming?" Courtney asks hesitantly. I nod my head and let out a shaky breath. I walk to the doors and Aisha opens them for Courtney and I. I walk in slowly and look around spotting one area curtained off. I feel my heartbeat increasing as we walk closer to the curtained area. Courtney slowly pulls back the curtain and I feel my heart stop beating and a small faint smile making it's way to my lips.
"Aman," I breath out. He smiles at me, his eyes lighting up.
"Priya," he smiles.
"We'll leave you two alone," Aisha smiles and takes Courtney with her as they scurry to the door. I close the curtain behind me and walk over to Aman, I sit on the side of the hospital bed and he admires me with a loving gaze.
"How are you Priya?" He asks tears welling in his eyes.
"Tired," I laugh out a bit and looking down at my hands. He brings his hand up and places it on my cheek, I lift my head and look at him.
"Didn't I promise to meet you on the other end?" He says with a serious face on. I nod my head and feel a tear leaving my eyes. He wipes it away with his thumb and motions me towards him.
"It's okay," he smiles and I move towards him hooking my arms around his neck and hugging him.
"I thought I lost you!" I sob into his shoulder. He rubs my back and whispers soothing words in my ear. I feel him un-lace his arms from around me and pulls away.
"Did you get what I sent to you?" He says. I know exactly what he means and nod my head yes.
"Why did you send it back? Is it rejection?" He asks laughing painfully.
"No... I didn't want it unless you were the one giving it to me." I say holding his hand.
"Well in that case..." he says and pulls the blanket over his legs and kicks them over the opposite side. He groans in pain and I get up from the hospital bed and walk around to the side he is now sitting on.
"Aman, you should be staying in bed!" I say a bit panicked. He laughs through gritted teethe.
"Turn around," he says not looking at me.
"Why?" I question stepping towards him.
"Just turn around please?" He says pain evident in his voice. I comply and turn around. I hear something click and then hear the sound of Aman moving on the hospital bed. Then I hear a small thud and instinctively turn around. Aman is on one knee and a ring in his hand. I smile and feel tears filling my eyes.
"I know I've asked you before... but I'm asking you now with all honestly and love... Priya Elizabeth Malhotra, will you marry me?"
