'Ma'am? Are you alright?' Someone called out softly as you stumbled out of the bar.
'I'm fi-*hiccup*-ine.' You responded. Everything was kinda blurry. All you could remember was that you had caught your husband cheating on you and your once perfectly stable self esteem was now demolished. You had no money, no home, no friends, no family. You were a dead man walking but your destination was unclear. A bridge, maybe? A bottle of pills? Another bottle of pills? You were still deciding. Though the path you were taking was long and lonely, it was strangely beautiful. It was dark and grey, lively trees towered above you. Everything around you was dark and dreary, until you stumbled upon something strange. It was a circus. But none like what you've seen before. You probably aren't even seeing it.
"I'm drunk", you thought to yourself as you stepped closer and closer to the wonderfully inviting tent.
'Hello?' You called out to a small man playing with an origami crane just out the front. He was one of the smallest people you've ever seen!
'Yes? Who're you?' He looked up and flashed you a grin.
'U-Um...what is this place?' You averted the question.
'What's it look like? If you need more of an answer, go on in!' He scoffed and continued to play with the bit of paper.
'But I don't have any money.' You told him as he sighed.
'Did I ask you for money? No. So go in or go away!' He yelled and gestured for you to go into the bright looking tent. As you entered, people stopped to look at the drunken mess that was you. Most of them were beautiful ladies wearing surprisingly revealing clothes, all of which being fishnets and tiny bras.
'Miss? Are you here for the show?' One of the pretty girls asked you.
'I-I don't know...I don't know where I am...' You muttered and looked around rapidly.
'Hey, hey...calm down. How about we go see one of my friends? Maybe he can help you.' Her voice was very calming and gentle, almost like a kindergarten teacher. After nodding, you both made your way to the back where a tall man was opening and closing a box repeatedly.
'Reaper? This lady is lost, could you help her?' She asked him. His head shot up and scanned you up and down.
'Yes, yes I suppose I could. But why?' He stood up and started slowly whizzing around the room like a spider. Each step was precise and cautious, but the closer he got, the more afraid you became. The girl put her arm around your shoulder.
'Because! If we help her, she'll have to pay us back...' The girl's face grew evil and devilish. He stopped.
'How will she pay us?' Your blood went cold.
'I-I can find my own way home.' Clutching your forearm, the man's eyes grew wide.
'What home? I thought the bad man took that away from you.' He smirked and ran his index finger over your veins.
'H-How did you-'
'Yes, the cheater stole your fragile heart with a kiss, and sealed your fate with infidelity. He took everything you had...' He cut you off and the girl left the room.
'Y-Yes, he did.' You stuttered. The man used his other hand to feel your neck.
'You're feelings aren't as positive as they were before that day...I can change all that...'
'You can?' You swallowed all your fears and listened to his captivating voice.
'Yes...all you have to do, is be mine.' He whispered.
'Yours? What would I have to do?' You asked.
'Just simple things, jobs I would sully myself by doing...' He held your arms up from behind you and let his warm breath tickle your neck.
'Deal...?' He muttered.
'D-Deal.'
He let go of you and placed his thumb on your ring finger, letting his sharp nail pierce your skin. You whimpered but he made sure to silence you with a hand covering your mouth. He lifted your hand to his face and studied it closely.
'It's beautiful...how could someone dirty such a kind heart?' He watched as blood trickled down your sensitive finger.
'There used to be a ring on that finger...' You mumbled, clenching your fist softly.
'Yes, I understand your pain,' you opened your hand again and he then licked the blood off your finger 'but only beautiful people feel the most of it.'
Your head started to spin.
'W-What the...' You trailed off as you lost your balance.
'I'm sorry, but in order to complete our deal, I must drink the blood of my partner. Now that my wish has been fulfilled, yours must.' He smirked, kneeling beside you. He bit into his arm and positioned it just over your mouth, letting his blood drip into the grasp of your taste. You, strangely, liked it. The taste was sweet and delicious, but something wasn't right. You blinked and looked up at him, he was different. Instead of being creepy, he was now beautiful. His once dusty, old green hair was now medium and black. He was still tall, but now he looks more slender and his new figure reminded you of a spider.
'Hello, miss.' His voice sounded sweet and adorable.
'U-Um...who're you?' You asked him.
'You made a deal with Reaper, yes?' He smiled.
'Yes?'
'Well, you fulfilled his wish so he's fulfilled yours.' He responded as he helped you up.
'What was my wish?' I asked him.
'You wanted the perfect man. One who wouldn't cheat on you or betray you. One who would get you out of any situation, even the supernatural.' He kept smiling.
'So, where is Reaper?' You asked.
'Inside me. He's part of me.' The tall man looked around and then pulled out a list from under his bed.
'This list is everything I need done.' He handed me the list and I studied it closely.
'What does it mean by-'
'I shall explain once you're faced with that challenge.' He cut you off and put his arm around your shoulder.
'You're new here, so I'll introduce you to the freaks.'
As he led you out of the room, you questioned what he meant by 'freaks'.
'We're all freaks here.'
