Chris came back approximately 20 minutes after and collapsed on the floor.
'Y-You remember how you helped me last time this happened?' He weakly spoke as I hurried out of his bed and called for Josh. I didn't even finish saying his name before the adorable dog boy was running into the tent with a vile in his mouth. He bit down hesitantly as I turned Chris over to reveal his bloody neck. It wasn't as bad as before, but it was certainly fatal. Yet, knowing Chris, this wouldn't come close to killing him. I snatched the vile from Josh's mouth and pulled the cork from the end. I smeared some of the pink liquid on my hand and ran it over the puncture wounds near his jugular.
'He'll be okay in a few minutes! Okay?' Josh hesitantly exclaimed. Before I could reply he ran off. I yanked Chris off the floor and onto the bed as he apologised profusely.
'The creatures have...they have been getting reckless lately an...and one of them bit me. D-Don't worry, I'm fine...' He was obviously trying to reassure me but I was still unsure. I was about to lift the blanket over his shivering body until he asked if I could lay down with him. 'I promise, nothing inappropriate...' he added. I didn't think before responding, only laying down beside him and pulling the blanket just above my nose. For Chris, the blanket was below his chin but he didn't seem to care. I closed my eyes, laying my arm over his torso and breathing gently. 'You got comfortable very quickly.' Chris joked, turning to lay on his side and facing me.
'You're my perfect man, it'd be strange if I wasn't comfortable around you.'
'My alluring little Cinderella, why did we have to be born so far apart? I've never felt more whole than when I met you. Even without this curse that makes me need you every moment, I loved you. My old body would never be able to handle the way you make my heart jackhammer against my old ribs.' Chris gently muttered into my ear, watching as my eyes began to close. His voice was like music. 'Mine...you're all mine, (Y/n). I wish I could've saved you from that horrid man sooner. I wish I could've been the one to kill him...'
'Chris?' I barely whispered, my hand creeping down his chest.
'Yes?'
'I know you couldn't have made me feel better earlier but...make me feel better now, please?' I begged, leaning forward to brush my nose against his. Chris stayed still for a moment as my fingertips brushed over his lower abdomen. I herd him exhale deeply before I looked at him, unsure of his response.
'Wouldn't you like to wait?'
'Please? I feel so lonely, so lost...'
'Darling, you're confused...you were just possessed, you need time to rest.' Chris reached under the blanket and took my hand, entertaining our fingers. 'Wait a bit longer and I promise you it'll be worth it. For now, sleep.'
At that exact moment, I passed out.

I awoke feeling like my spirit had been drowned. My limbs felt heavy from some sort of supernatural force. I couldn't breath, couldn't speak, nothing. I shifted my eyes, taking in what was around me. Chris was gone and nothing was out of place. Nothing, except the ghost standing beside me.
''M very sorry, (y/n)...Chris accidentally poked a hole in 'is tent when 'e was tryin' to get me. I came in through the tear.' Devin stared at me, his eyes a pale white. I tried to open my mouth to speak but nothing came out. 'Oh, uh...'s pretty hard bein' in a room filled to the gully wit' demonic spells, s'I needed t'up my spiritual pressure. Y'probably feelin' a bit weighted. Look, I just...' Ghost took a breath, smoke seeping through his transparent skin and his parted lips. 'I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. But, in my defence, you don't know what it's like being me. You don't know what it's like having everybody ignore you all the time. Even in death, my dad never came to see me. He was too busy killing whores. I had no friends, no one. Only Chris came to see me get thrown into a ditch. He watched as I arose from my grave as a ghost, it's his fault I'm here!' Devin was speaking clearly, probably understanding that at that point in time I was under too much physical pressure to try and process his half-arsed words. 'I'm not going to say that my life would've been better if my mother was alive, or if I had never met Chris because that's just stupid. It's an ignorant mans excuse. However, my father raised me. I was brought up by Victorian Londons worst nightmare, the man who dismembered and deformed skanks for the fun of it. I'm sorry, I'm sorry but Chris murdered me and infused my soul with my dads. I'd show you what it's like in my soul, but if I do you'd go insane.' Devin finished, going to fade away until I tried to speak.
'Sn...ngo...ps...' Devin faded away, freeing me suddenly. I was confused after that encounter as to why I wasn't angry at him anymore. I sat up and tried to slow my heart rate but I was filled with dread and unease. I wasn't sure if Devin was just playing a trick on me or if he was serious. Overrun by confusion, I decided to stand and go outside. I looked around, noticing it was dark outside.
'You seem confused.' Devin suddenly appeared in front of me, his hand cradling the back of his neck.
'Yeah, uh...did I sleep in?'
'Y'slept all day. Most of 'em sleep durin' the day so I guess they rubbed off on yah.' Devin kept his head down as I processed his likely his words were. I believed him even though he was a psychopath or at least part of him was. 'If y'want Chris, e's out in the city takin' care of some business.'
'No, no I...I'm confused.' I finally sighed and raised my hands to my face. 'I don't...I don't know what to think anymore...y'know? I mean...I like it here, everyone is different but I'm scared. I'm scared to leave...I'm scared of you...' He didn't seem phased by my words but instead, he seemed more pleased that I actually said it.
'I'm glad you can admit that...Would you like me to escort you out of here? I think Ryan is hanging around the woods somewhere. He's nice to talk to, just keep your guard up.' I nodded in response, beginning to feel like leaving would ease my nerves quite a lot.

As he said, Devin led me out. I was surprised at how long the walk was, taking about ten minutes to reach the entrance. Devin and I spoke about many things and I suddenly remembered why I wasn't afraid of him when I first came here. He was, in fact, a sweet person but he had his demons. 'Anyway,' he started 'if you walk around enough, you'll find Ryan. I think he'll leave you be since Chris has claimed you but you never know.' Devin itched the top of his head as I nodded.
'Thanks...and uh...I'm sorry for being so harsh towards you. I'm not exactly-'
'No, no it's fine...I am a murderer, after all. I just want you to be safe around me so that you don't feel alone when you die.' For some odd reason, I wasn't phased by the thought of my own death. An eternity with Devin was less painful than I first thought. 'Stay safe, okay?' Devin finished before fading away.
