You spent so long walking around, looking at all the different places you could have food at. None if them seemed appealing.
'Isn't there food back home?' You asked, looking up at the groggy man.
'Yes.' He yawned.
'Why don't we just go back?' You asked.
'I thought you'd like commoners food because that's what you're used to.' His walking slowed as he yawned once more, rubbing his eyes which had bags.
'Let's just go back. You're tired.' You smiled at his adorableness and began leading him back home.
'You should sleep too...you have to start filling out the list tomorrow...' He groaned.
'List?'
'Yes. The deal. I be your perfect guy, you do things for me, remember?'
You nodded, walking past the extremely short man in front of the circus. Looking up, you saw the name of it, written on a large banner.
'Fantôme Cirque?' You read aloud. Chris smiled down at you.
'Do you know what it means?'
'No.'
'It's French for 'ghost circus'.' He informed you before shouting at a girl in front of his tent.
'Ruth! Can you please bring some food to my tent, and an extra bed?' He led you into his room, before you looked back at the beautiful girl. Her hair was dark brown, and her skin was as white as snow. But her eyes, they had no pupils, nor irises. They were blank.
'Yes. I will do that for you.' Her voice was lifeless and robotic. She walked away, carrying a large laundry basket as Chris followed you inside.
'Chris, can I see the list again?'
He groaned as he flopped on his bed, pulling the list out from under his pillow and handing it to you.
'Who's Monkey Man?' You asked, but no one responded. When you looked at Chris, you realised he was already asleep.

You looked around, but there was nothing noteworthy happening. However, just listening to his calm, gently breaths was enough to occupy you until Ruth came in.
'Um, Chris is asleep.' You mumbled, trying not to look at her strikingly unordinary face.
'Master wants food.' Her voice was still so robotic, if made you feel uneasy.
'Yeah, um...' You noticed the plate in her hands, and took it from her.
'I'll give it to him.' You tried to act casual, but the truth was that you were slightly frightened by her presence. She looked at Chris before exiting, without a word. You placed the plate on the dresser, before walking over to Chris and shaking his shoulder softly.
'Um...are you hungry?' You muttered. His eyes instantly shot open after he felt your touch. He practically disappeared from his spot and grabbed your arm, holding behind your back and forcing you to the ground.
'Who are you? How did you find me?' He screamed at you, almost threatening to break your arm.
'I-It's me! Jeez, let me go!' You couldn't find the right answer, the pain in your arm was too captivating. Chris quickly realised what he was doing and let you go, before holding you tightly.
'I'm so sorry! I thought you were one of the outsiders!' He quickly apologised, stroking your arm to try and sooth the newly created pain.
'It's okay, just warm me next time. That fucking hurt!' You complained as he pulled away from you and wiped the hair from your face.
'Are you sure you're alright?' He asked, sounding sorry.
'I said I was fine. Now have stupid fucking food. I'm not hungry anymore.' You stood up and stormed out. He didn't follow you, knowing that'd make you feel worse.

You soon found Ash pulling a box that seemed to contain various bedding items.
'Um...hi?' You looked at her, studying he sweat drenched face.
'Oh. Hi, (Y/n). Are you alright? I herd you ran out after Chris tried to help you.' She genuinely sounded concerned, so you responded honestly.
'I was just overwhelmed by the fact that I made a deal with a fucking shapeshifter. And now I have to live in this place.' You sighed. Being reminded of that fact was aggravating, but it sadly was true.
'Is there something wrong with our home?' She seemed offended by your remark.
'No! It's lovely! Just...not what I'm used to. My previous homes didn't have barrels full of drugs, murderous performers and cannibals.' You joked, grabbing the other side of the box and helping her move it.
'Thank you. And, yes, I can see how all this would be overwhelming.' She seemed very bland, like she didn't want you around.
'If there something wrong?' You questioned, pushing the box slightly harder.
'No. I just didn't expect you to be here at this moment.' She replied, giving the box one more tug before letting go. You lost hold and looked around at the place you had left it, not realising that it was in a place you had never been to before. The only thing there was a small stone that was shaped like a cross, except it was inverted.
'Is that a grave?'
'Yeah. I'm supposed to leave this stuff here for the guy who lives here. I've never met him though.' She didn't seem to care much, however the stone got your attention. The name on it said 'Devin Sola. Died: 1890. No one will miss him'.
'Devin?' The moment you said his name, he appeared sitting on his gravestone. He looked practically the same as how he was yesterday.
'Yes?' He smiled slightly, seeing the box on the ground.
'Sorry, I was reading the name on your grave.' I smiled awkwardly. Ash then turned to me, lifting her eyebrow slightly.
'Who're you talking to?'
You pointed to Devin, who was readjusting the black, fingerless, wool gloves on his hands.
'Devin, the guy on the tombstone.' You replied before watching him push himself off of the stone.
'Uh, I don't know-uh...yeah, no ones there...you should go before this place gets to you.' She left, with that being her final words to you. As she walked away from you, Devin approached her and put his hand on her shoulder, letting it pass right through her. Ash didn't flinch, nor did she realise that he just passed through her.
'What the...'
'I'm a ghost, remember? Dead. Gone. I only exist as a spirit, I do.'
'Okay, okay. I get it. So, why did Ash need to drop this off to you?' You asked, placing your hand on the worn out box you had moved previously.
'I just like making people come here. I feel less alone, I do.'
'Okay, then how do you ask for things if you're a ghost? Can't only I see you?' You took your hand away, now placing it firmly on your hips.
'Chris can see me. 'E's terrified of me, 'e is.'
'How? I mean, isn't he like, a vampire or something?' You questioned, chewing on the inside of your cheek.
'Vampire? No, of course not. That's ridiculous. Vampires only live in Australia and Asia. Chris is more of a illusionist, a mystery with a face, 'e is.' Devin began rummaging through all the pillows and blankets, as if he was searching for something.
'That is pretty accurate. What're you looking for?' You approach him, forgetting about all caution you previously had around him. He finally retracted his long arms from the box, holding a book.
'Chris always makes sure to leave a book in here for me. It's how he keeps me occupied.'
'You like reading?' You approached him, glancing at the book in his pale hands.
'Yes. I like the classics. Edgar Allen Poe was an amazing writer. Funny man, bit odd. Married 'is 13 year old cousin, he did.'
'You met Edgar Allen Poe?'
'Yes. 'E was a buddy of mine. Have you herd of Mary Shelley?'
'Yeah?'
'Not as poetic as they say she was. Terrible in bed. Bit like a fish outta water, she was.'
You couldn't help but begin to laugh as Devin shuttered under his nonexistent skin. 'So, (Y/n), why're you here?'
'Chris accidentally hurt me. He thought I was an intruder..'
'Oh, don't worry, 'e does that a lot 'e does.' Devin's head suddenly shot up as footsteps began to charge in your direction. He grabbed your arm and threw you behind his tombstone, shortly after whispering "hide".
'Where is she?' A familiar voice growled.
'I don't know.'
'Devin, Chris is thinning. We need her. Chris is feeling things, his skin is turning to ash, and his bones are getting thin. He needs her touch.'
You suddenly remembered that voice and shot up. Sure enough, Ricky was balancing a long knife on his index finger and speaking loudly.
'What's wrong with Chris?'
'He's dying. C'mon.'
