After Ricky's reckless yet somehow precise procedure of violently stabbing Chris's clothes, Chris was laying peacefully in the water, letting all the blood wash off of him. You couldn't help but let your eyes wander to the markings on his chest. You couldn't tell if they were tattoos or if they were really his skin. They looked like a part of him, but it didn't bother you that much. Just as you yawned, you felt someone aggressively grab your arm and throw you into the boiling water. It only hurt for a moment, but you were soon pulled out of the water and given air to breathe. Chris was hiding in the water after realising it was only you.
'Sorry...'
You shivered, now being completely drenched in water.
'I-It's alright...h-how're you feeling?'
'Okay. How long have I been out?' Chris lifted his hand and tightened all the muscles in his fingers. A towel flew into the bathroom and was hovering in front of you before you could even blink.
'U-Um...'bout an hour...how'd you do that?' You softly took the floating towel as Chris spoke.
'Magic. Wanna see something cool?' Chris smiled as you nodded and began waving his fingers around. You suddenly felt a tickling sensation engulf your body and you began to laugh hysterically.
'W-What the shit?' You swatted the invisible hands away and tried to stop laughing as Chris spoke.
'I'm going to blind you for a moment, okay? Just so I can get dressed.' Before you could protest, your vision became black. You weren't scared, and instead waited patiently for Chris to finish his business. You could hear him hop out of the warm water and exit the room. The moment you could no longer hear his footsteps, your vision came back. You began to think about the beautiful Illusionist and the prints on his torso, but your mind soon began to wander to inappropriate places.
'You shouldn't think of such lewd things, little missy.' Chris's voice suddenly whispered from behind you, snapping you out of your thoughts.
'I-I wasn't thinking of bad stuff! You can't prove it!'
'Yes I can. I'm magic, remember?' He smirked and slowly waltzed out of the bathroom in the black jeans and black top you had gotten for him.
'Now then, you sleep while I write.' Chris ordered. You couldn't protest, mainly because you were so tired you could pass out at any moment. The second you laid down, you passed out and began to dream of none other then Chris.
'Wake up!'
You suddenly sat up, noticing Josh on all fours at the foot of Chris's bed.
'Oh, good morning Jo-'
'Come get breakfast!' Josh howled, taking the blanket between his teeth and ripping it off you. Josh hopped off the bed and panted heavily.
'Quickly! Before everyone else wakes up!'
He led me to a large table with plates of baked potatoes on it.
'Grab two please!' Josh nudged my hand towards the table. 'Mine is the one with potatoes on it!'
You couldn't help but chuckle as you picked up two plates. 'Yes! Now follow me!' The animal boy sprinted towards the front of the circus, spraying his spit everywhere. After he got twenty meters away from you, he froze.
'Master! Let me go please!' Josh begged, staring back in your direction. You turned around and squealed as you saw Chris towering behind you. His fist was clenched, holding Josh with his powers.
'Come here.' He dropped Josh and allowed the boy to crawl back with his head down. 'What do you say?'
'Thank you, (Y/n). Can I please have my food?' Josh pouted, staring up at you with sorry eyes. You only smiled and placed the plate on the floor for Josh. He quickly began to devour the potatoes as Chris led you away.
'Eat quickly, we must go out today.' You suddenly felt a force lift your free arm and pick up one of the three potatoes on the plate.
'Okay, okay. I can eat myself.' You couldn't help but laugh as control flowed back into your limb. You quickly scoffed your breakfast down whilst Chris was leading you to the female change rooms.
'Charlotte, please assist (Y/n). I will be back in two minutes and twenty eight seconds.' Chris suddenly disappeared, vanishing out of thin air. A young girl crept out from behind a mirror and smiled shyly, studying your appearance.
'You're pretty...' The very small girl giggled '...what's your favourite colour?'
'Um...I like a lot of colours.'
'Black it is.' The girl, which you were almost sure was only seven, sped off. Not even five seconds later, she sprinted back into the room and handed you a large black jumper and black leggings.
'Chris will like this! This is his favourite jumper!' The girl clapped her hands together and began mumbling something under her breath. For a moment, you felt a wave of cold air on your entire body and then you felt warmth overtake you once more. You look down, and realise your clothes were switched with the clothes the girl was holding. 'Come back when you want your clothes! I'll wash these ones.'
'Um...t-they're not mine.'
The girl only shrugged, skipping away.
'(Y/n), come on. I shall direct you...to...'
You turned around and saw Chris, practically stumbling after seeing your clothes.
'I-I uh...hi.'
'A-Actually...I was gonna get you to do your first job today but...' Chris gulped and snapped his fingers before vanishing into thin air. You were left alone, yet warm and somewhat comforted by the people around you.
'Ricky? You here?' You smiled, seeing Ricky poke his head out from his tent.
'Hello, (Y/n). How may I help you?' Ricky looked you up and down before chewing his lip and taking his eyes away from you.
'Um...I was wondering if you're busy? Chris disappeared and I'm lost. I'm lucky I stumbled upon your tent.' You itched the back of your head and noticed Ricky had multiple cuts and bruises on his arms. They weren't self inflicted, you could tell because of how they were set out.
'I am busy, but I can help you find Chris.' Ricky suddenly stepped forward and placed his hand on your cheek, planting a soft kiss on your lips. You suddenly felt a hand on your shoulder rip you away from Ricky and keep you safely behind them. You recognised the persons touch and smiled.
'Ricky, don't make me-'
'Relax. She wanted you so I did what I knew would get you here. Have fun, (Y/n).' Ricky winked and slowly stepped back into his tent, wiggling his hips. Chris was almost red with anger, his hands trembling but it somehow made you feel comforted.
'It's alright...' You soothed him, taking his hand in yours. He instantly calmed down and sighed.
'Sorry, sorry...I know Ricky meant nothing by it. He and I have known each other forever. Same with Balz and Ryan and...' He trailed off.
'And?'
'...And Devin.'
You suddenly felt a cold hand on your shoulder, but knew it was Devin. You closed your eyes and began to hear his soft voice.
"He and I have a history. Please don't bring it up..."
'I'm a mind reader, Devin. Get out of here.' Chris demanded, turning and facing the ghost beside you. Ghost gulped before suddenly disappearing.
'Don't listen to him. He's crazy. Bloody bastard gets everyone killed..'
'Chris, please don't talk about Devin. He's my fri-'
'Don't say that! He doesn't deserve friends! All he does is get precious people killed! I'm not fucking doing it again! Stay away from him!' Chris's voice shouted so loud that everyone around you froze. Chris's nose began to let out a stream of blood.
'C-Chris, please don't yell...'
Chris didn't calm, but only let out an annoyed sigh.
'Yeah, yeah just...don't talk to Devin. He's a killer.'
