'She...she's waking up! Guys! She's waking up!'
I groaned, my eyes beginning to flutter open to see Devin smiling down at me, his skin pale and smooth like porcelain. His hair was significantly longer than when I last saw him, which confused me. I went to sit up, but realised I had no strength in my body.
'W-What? Where...where's Chris? Where am I?'
Ricky, Ryan and Josh bolted into the unfamiliar room, goofy grins spread across their faces.
'(Y/n)! You're finally awake!' Josh exclaimed, bouncing up and down excitedly.
'Y-Yeah...how long have I been asleep?'
'Two years and seven months.' Ryan calmly spoke, trying his best to contain his excitement.
'Wait, what? Where's Chris? What's going on?'
'You've missed out on so much...(Y/n), feel my pulse.' Devin held out his wrist, plopping it on top of my hand so I could feel the faint beating in his flesh.
'You're alive?'
'Yeah. I've been meaning to thank you for saving me...' Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed somebody peak their head into the room, staring quietly. 'Vinny, come here...'
'I-I can't...I can't do it...'
'Please? You promised me you'd apologise...' Devin gently smiled, reaching behind my back and helping me sit up. It was slightly uncomfortable but I was grateful for the movement. I turned my head, noticing Vinny's hair was much shorter than when I last saw him.
'I...' He swallowed, taking a few steps into the room and sitting beside me, his head hanging in shame. '(Y/n)...I know apologising doesn't un-brake the plate but...I'm so fucking sorry...I...I thought that Chris and Devin...I thought they were in love...and that Chris was a cheater...I...I lost my mind but I can promise you that I've tried so hard to make up for it. I helped Devin learn to walk again, I cleaned up the entire lounge room and replaced everything that I broke, I've made sure you stayed alive during the years you were asleep, and I'll keep doing whatever I can to make up for everything.' I could tell he was telling the truth. There was genuine regret in his eyes and it told me everything.
'I forgive you. You've suffered enough for what you did, there's no point in me holding a grudge. But, can someone please tell me where Chris is?'
'...Chris...he's...' Devin frowned for a moment, making my heart sink into my stomach. Everybody turned away, hiding their faces from me.
'...what...what happened? I-Is he...'
Slowly, Devin's frown shifted into a mischievous little grin.
'He's waiting for you...come on...'

Devin took my hand, leading me out of the unfamiliar bedroom and down a long hallway, littered with doors. The floors were made out of dark wood that contrasted well with the dark eggshell coloured walls. Every corner was decorated with fine wooden carvings that reminded me of every Victorian Era movie I had ever seen. I almost slipped a few times, but Devin managed to catch me each time. He was a lot stronger than before. At the end of the hall was a large living room, one probably double the size of my whole apartment back in Louisville. Even my cats were there, each of them laying in random spots. The kitchen was attached to it, the only thing separating them being a marble counter. On the right side, however, was a large sliding door that overlooked the ocean. The sunset perfectly reflected off of the sea, lighting up everything besides the silhouette that sat on a small chair beside a matching table. I recognised the figure, and slowly began creeping towards it. Devin let go of me, knowing that my will was strong enough to get me there. The door was already open, letting me smell the salt water that was below us. I didn't even realise the house was on a hill until I stepped out there. I approached him, my bare footsteps so gentle that he didn't hear me until I spoke to him. 'C-Chris...'
Slowly, he turned to me, eyes widening before he stood up. He hadn't changed one bit. He looked me up and down, studying the silk dress that I wore which gently waved in the breeze. '(Y/n)...You're finally awake...'
'You haven't changed a bit...' I reached forward, planting my hands on his shoulders as his wrapped around my waist.
'...Our contract is broken, (Y/n)...and I am mortal again...do you still love me?'
'...I do, Chris...I love you...'
