"Rachel!"
As my body rolled down the concrete stairs, Josh's voice echoes into the wind. The Earth went quiet. My body layed onto the ground as hundreds of people rushed around me. I lifted my head as Josh and Cory ran down the steps following loads of other people. The longer I stayed the heavier my head felt. Eventually my head dropped onto the floor. Wind rushed past me as I saw 'him' standing there. Josh ran down in front of me and fell to his knees; repeating my name over, and over again. I turned my head back straight to glare up at the sky. It all became a blur. My eyes shut as a loud ringing noise strung around in my head.
"Hey? You okay?"
As I rushed to turn my head I soon realised I was standing back in the corridor with Josh. I kept swaying from one side to another to allow reality to set in. Soon Josh placed his hand on my shoulder and turned my body to face him.
"You okay? You blanked out on me?"
"Yeah sorry... just day dreaming."
As he unworryingly kept a strong gaze at me he accepted the fact I said I was okay.
"Hey let's go get food."
To bring life back to the situation I bubbled myself up to try to ignore the fact of what happened to me. Josh smiled the wrapped his arm around me as we walked over to the canteen.
As we were waiting to pay for the food I heard my name being called from the other side of the room. I turned to see Cory standing on the chair calling me over. I waved to tell him I was coming over. I looked over at Josh and flinched my head in Cory's direction as he sat back down in his seat. He slightly crossed his eyebrows but my puppy dog eyes always wins.
As soon as we had our food we made our way over to Cory; he was sat with a bunch of people.
"Ey Rachel!"
He got up from his chair again then stood next to me wrapping one arm over my shoulder and shaked me around.
"Right, this is Jack, Anna, and Tan."
"To make more sense its Tanya but people call me Tan for short."
Everyone giggled as Cory scootched them over to make room for me and Josh. Throughout lunch Cory went on about loads of things. Me and Tan just started chatting but, every time I looked over and Josh he just sat there playing with his food. I kept trying to involve him in conversation; it wasn't much but each time I giggled at silly things about Josh, he laughed.
Time had passed and it was finally the end of the day. Josh chatted to the boy Jack and Cory for a while. I'm glad he made an effort. I know he didn't really want to chat but he tried for me and i'm thankful for that. Me, Anna and Tan were chatting. I'm glad I finally got talking to new people.
It was the end of the day and I said goodbye to everyone. Josh kept hugging me telling me to be safe as he didn't want to leave me as I was going to Cory's to get his laptop. I warned him I'd be fine plus we were only getting his laptop so we shouldn't be that long. Finally Josh hugged me then left.
"Omg you;re going to love all of their songs. Anything else you want downloaded tell me and i'll see if I can get it done."
While walking home Cory seemed so giddy. It made me giggle. After 20 minutes of walking he soft of slowed down...
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure."
I knew it was serious as the tone in his voice had completely changed...
"I'm sorry if I sound rude but, are you pregnant? I know it's none of my business..."
I hesitated... I was unsure whether to tell him or not?
"I'm not saying this to 'blackmail' you to tell me but, you're acting the same when my mum was pregnant. She randomly threw up and felt sick. Unfortunately she died in labour... If you're not i'm sorry for bothering you with this."
His mum died?... Shit. Should I tell him? What if he begins to treat me differently. How will Josh react?! Do I lie or not?
