The wind brought green clouds in the night, and in the morning a rad storm was booming.

Everyone had to stay indoors unless they wanted to get severely irradiated, and the same went for Aaron.

He was tough, but it was foolish to go out on a rad storm. The green fog made it impossible to find anything anyhow.

So he was stuck inside with Aphmau and Impact.

Thunder boomed and shook the station, but Aaron wasn't worried, it had went through worse.

However Aphmau and Impact were terrified, Impact of the thunder. And Aphmau because she didn't know if the station was stable enough.

"Uh, Aaron, are you sure this is safe?" She asked, her voice shaking.

"Positive." He replied bluntly, trying not to notice that lace in her voice that drove him crazy.

He still had his mask, and he was going to keep it on until she left. He didn't need any emotional attachment.

Aphmau had taken to hoisting herself up on the bar and walking that way. Aaron was glad she was recovering quickly.

Thunder boomed again, Impact sped to Aaron lap.

"Woah, Impact, You scared boy?" He patted Impact on the head.

Impact whimpered, loud noises scared him.

"Looks like you're more bark then bite Impact." Aphmau giggled, Aaron was so hot he was about to explode. No one had ever made him blush that hard, with just a laugh.

"He's a ruddy coward." Aaron replied roughly, "but he's a good dog."

Impact barked in defiance, he nibbled on Aaron's fingers to prove his point.

He chuckled slightly, Impact was a very smart dog, he suspected a brain mutation from radiation.

Aphmau giggled again, this time Aaron was ready, and he didn't blush.

She hummed a tune and kicked her functional leg. Swishing her hair back and forth with the beat.

Against himself, Aaron stole a glance at her. She was so innocent, more than he had ever seen. She had a look of childlike wonder in her eyes.

One that scared him, for her safety.

He admitted to himself that he cared for her safety, he at least wanted to give her the best chance out there alone.

"What happened, by the way?" Aaron asked suddenly, making himself jump.

"What?" Aphmau replied, a look of confusion etched on her face.

"What got you so hurt, is what I'm asking."

"Oh, I uh... fell...."

"You don't get those kinds of wounds from falling sweetheart." His voice had a sarcastic edge, she was a bad lier, he could tell she was hiding something.

She looked down at the floor, looking like a child who had gotten caught stealing.

"I fell from the top floor, the boards broke underneath me."

Aaron didn't believe her, but decided not to press the subject further. It wasn't his business anyway.

"So, I don't know much about you." Aphmau started, looking up excitedly.

"That's a good thing." Aaron replied, moving slightly as Impact had fallen asleep on his lap.

"Oh." She looked slightly crestfallen. But perked up again almost instantly. Beginning to hum again.

He felt a little bad, but he didn't want her to get too close. The last time he had opened up to someone...

Well, he didn't want to think about it.

He felt his stomach rumble, and he realized he didn't know the last time Aphmau had eaten.

"Hey, Are you hungry at all, I've got some food." He asked, knowing the answer before he got it.

"Yes!" She backtracked and composed herself,
"But, I don't want to be too much of a bother."

"I mean, I'm hungry too, so if you want anything, say it now, because I'm not fixing anything later." He replied with sarcasm, she definitely brought out the child in him.

"Yes, Please." She said politely. Beaming up at him.

He took some tins of pork and beans and pulled out a petrol grill. And he sat them down on it. The burners flared on, the flames licked the bottom of the cans.

Impact licked his lips, because now it was his turn.

"Your turn boy." Aaron said, and he opened a can of slightly wet dog food.

As Impact munched on his meal, the rad storm had gotten worse. A cold,  radioactive wind blew through the area. And acidic green rain fell from the sky.

CRAKOM!!!

Thunder bellowed, knocking both Aaron and the spoon he had in his hand, sideways.

Impact jumped up and almost crushed Aphmau. He had buried his head in her chest.

"Woah, Impact, Its okay buddy, it's just thunder." Aphmau tried to calm the terrified pup down.

Finally Impact fell asleep again, this time on her lap.

"Ow." Aaron grumbled, the spoon had knocked him in the head and had knocked his mask off.

His mask was knocked out of his reach, near Aphmau's feet. He would need to risk showing his face to get it.

Unfortunately for him, she noticed. She gave the mask a slight push in his direction. But then she saw his face.

She paused, blushing at his rough features. She didn't remember ever being this hot.

"Um, here." She slid the mask over to him, and he snapped it on almost immediately. He was a little flustered too. But he didn't show it.

"Thanks." Aaron said, but then the grill beeped and the burners turned off.

He cleared his throat and took of the cans with his bare hands.

"Here, foods done." He handed it gruffly to her, and then took his to the garage, locking the door behind him.
