Winter was over, it was finally time for them to go home. They just had a few loose ends to tie up.

Aaron slowly climbed into Garte's office. Where he was waiting for him with a smile.

"I saw my daughter walking around with that amulet." He smirked and motioned for Aaron to sit down.

"So, your probably wondering why you are here." He said, in a tone of pure business.

"Yeah." Aaron replied politely.

" Your heritage." Garte said, his smile leaving him.

"Your last name is Falconclaw, but he looked up your DNA from surgery and found that, it's simply not true." He slid the folder onto his desk.

"Isn't that right Mr. Liken."

Aaron stood up. Looked him right in the face, and chuckled.

"It is my real last name, I had it changed." Aaron's voice was steely, he hated his last name, it's why he had it changed.

"Right, Right. But your parents..."

"What about them?" He asked, his fist clenching.

"Do you know where they are?" Garte asked politely. He felt Aaron's anger.

"No, and I don't want to." He replied, wanting very much to leave the room.

"May I ask why?" Garte had a feeling that if he pushed much further he would be on the wrong end of a dagger.

"Well let's just say I wasn't exactly wanted." He controlled his anger. He couldn't snap, not here, in front of Aphmau's father.

"Alright, You don't have to tell me. I just thought you were lying to my daughter on who you were. And in extension lying to me." He leaned back in his chair.

"There is also another reason I called you here." Garte pulled out Aaron's laser rifle, laid it on the desk and looked back up at Aaron.

"Where did you get this?" He asked, eyeing Aaron's confused expression.

"I found it on a food run, where I get everything. There was a huge bunker, stock full of military weapons. And power armor." He added the last bit with a wince.

"The same that brought you here?" He asked smirking.

"Yeah..."

"That's all I needed to know, it looked like one of ours. Thank you for coming, You can go."

The doors opened up behind him, and Aaron looked back.

"Hmmm... What is it son?"

"Thank you." Aaron said, much to his own surprise.

"For what?" Garte looked confused.

"For letting us stay, for helping me, and you didn't have to." Aaron sounded a bit to much like Aphmau when he said that. But he shook it off.

"Your welcome son, now, go, go home." Garte motioned him out playfully. And Aaron left.

Sighing Garte wrote a message on his computer.

Day 4 Year 15

My daughter has an interesting taste in men. She has fallen in love with a lone waster with a scary looking dog.

He hides his heritage from even himself. And is disrespectful to his parents.

I feel like I only have the worst about him, and half his story. So I cannot judge him yet, however,

If I know my daughter, she will be able to weed the truth out of him, probably already has. It's just getting her to talk to me is going to be difficult.

I will let them go home for now, all of them need time.

Maybe I can amend things with her, I feel guilty keeping her from the outside world. If I had shown her sooner, maybe this would not have happened.

He hit enter and it was added to his log. And he watched Aaron and his daughter walk out the vault door, than his son and his "friend" next.

They stopped and talked with Dante and Travis for a few minutes before heading off. Aaron close beside Aphmau.

Garte noticed the rifle slung across his back, and chuckled. He had placed a camera on it, it would die when they reached there destination. He just wanted to make sure they got home safe.

He switched to it, now having a close up view of Aaron, Aphmau and Aurora.

Aaron and Aphmau were holding hands as they climbed over rubble. And he could hear Impact bark playfully at their side.

Garte chuckled, and then winced when he saw the scars on his daughters wrists.

He knew what it was from. Chains, anger bubbled up inside him until he saw how Aaron was holding her.

He was careful not to wrap his hands around her wrists all the way. And his fingers played with hers. And they were just talking.

"I met your dad, he's... intimidating." Garte laughed at this. As it was his job to make guys feel uncomfortable.

"Says the guy who lives on his own." Aphmau responded.

"With the woman and daughter of his dreams, along with her two brothers and his dog." He finished.

"You could write a book about that." She said, suddenly feeling deja' vu.

"Right..." He squeezed her hand and played with Aurora, who giggled.

Garte felt better about him with his daughter, even if he really didn't like him. It was the way he talked to her that reminded him of his and Zianna's relationship. Up to a point.

"Hey Aph..." Aaron started.  He started playing with her fingers again.

"When we get home..." He whispered in her ear, not heard by the camera.

But whatever it was it made her blush bright red. And Garroth and Laurance chuckled.

"Hey Aaron, she might not be ready for that just yet. She just had a baby." Garroth chuckled that evolved into a laugh when he saw Aphmau's face.

"Unless, you want him too, eh sis?"

Aphmau blushed even harder. And they continued home. Garte's ears were a little pink, embarrassed that he had overheard the conversation.

But the Aphmau kissed Aaron, fully and roughly,  for a good 20 seconds. And then turned to Garroth.

"Does that answer your question?"

She walked ahead of everyone and stays there. And Aaron was stopped in his tracks. He stood there staring at her, his mouth hung slightly ajar from shock.

He shook it of and briskly walked back up to her, grabbing her had as they walked the rest of  the way home.
