The ground was hot, the air was muggy. And dirt swirled into the air.

The wasteland had turned into an oven stuck on high, cooking everything in it until they were well done.

And the bad thing about living in a metal station, you were boiled like eggs.

Aaron had zero problems, he had done this before.

However Aurora and Aphmau were frying, up to the point where Aphmau had to pour water on Aurora to cool her down.

It was only in the night when it got perfect.

And it was during one of these nights, that Aaron and Aphmau go up to the roof to stargaze.

The universe stretched before them, they picked out stars and constellations.

"There's Venus." Aaron pointed to a glowing orange star, holding Aphmau's hand and having a sleeping Aurora on his chest.

"Have you wondered what it was like before the radiation?" She asked, laying down and looking at him.

"Everyone has, even me... Life was easy then. Children went to school, parents went to work with transportation. Buildings touched the sky, one thousand feet high." His eyes glazed over in his daydream, and Aurora shuffled in her sleep on her chest.

"Skyscrapers."  Aphmau said, stuck in the very same daydream. Watching the stars as they twinkled, unaware of the turmoils down on earth.

Suddenly a bright star fell across the sky, and Aphmau chuckled.

"Falling star, Make a wish..." He glanced at her and said his wish aloud.

"I wish, That I will never forget how to love again." He said softly, holding Aurora with his right hand. A cool, pleasant breeze, going through the family's hair.

"You won't." Aphmau took a long look at him, and was glad that this was the man she was spending the rest of her life with.

"I wish..." Aphmau started, making Aaron look at her.

"I wish, that I could forget what happened to me, and start over with you." She finished, looking into Aaron's eyes.

He chuckled light heartedly and slowly slid closer to her. Aurora snuggling up closer to his bare chest.

"Done..." He squeezed her hand, and they continued to watch the stars. The trees creaking with the wind.

Aurora slowly came awake, her eyes adjusting to the darkness.

"Oh, someone's awake..." He sat up and held her up to him.

Her eyes sparkled like the stars above, and she seemed to smile all the time. Her caramel eyes had darkened to an almost crimson color. And her hair had grown in black, with tiny little brown streaks in places.

"Mmaph! Nugh!" Her babbles broke the silence, and Aaron chuckled.

"We'll protect you mija, I promise..." He held the back of her head, and she swayed her arms in his direction.

She giggled and played with his finger, and he tickled her. And she started happily screaming and laughing.

He lifted up her shirt and blew a raspberry on her stomach. And she giggled and pulled his hair. The breeze licking her face.

"It's amazing, how a perfect flower can come out of something so horrible." Aphmau sat up and leaned on Aaron's shoulder, and also played with Aurora.

"Yeah... Yeah it is, but it doesn't surprise me that she's perfect." Aaron replied, resting his head on hers.

"Why?" Aphmau asked, giggling at Aurora's smile.

"Because she has the greatest woman in the world as her mother..." He finished, looking at her with half lidded eyes.

"And the greatest man as her father." She added, her hands going up to his arm. Aurora kept shuffling and giggling on her father's lap.

"You know how to charm a man..." He closed the gap quickly, kissing her with enough passion to light one thousand stars. She kissed back, her hands on the nape of his neck.

Enjoying her body pressed against his, he caressed her cheek softly. He opened his eyes just a crack.

He saw Aphmau with her eyes closed, and surrendering her trust into him. And he resealed his eyes. He leaned closer into her, deepening the kiss.

He gave her what she wanted, the kind of kiss that makes your knees wobble and go all doe-eyed.

When he pulled himself away. She reconnected their lips back together, and He pushed her off him and onto the cool surface of the roof.

"Let's put Aurora to bed first." He said breathlessly, holding Her and jumping off the roof.

Aphmau followed close behind, dizzy and heart pumping.

Aaron walked inside, stepping over Impact and Luna(who had grown considerably after just a few weeks.) And putting Aurora in her crib, where she almost immediately fell asleep.

Aphmau sat on the bed waiting for him, he stomach turning in nervousness.

She heard Aaron enter the room but didn't look up at him. And then she felt his large figure press up against her.

"Where were we...?" He asked, resuming the passionate kiss, and pinning he to the bed.

"How far do you want me to go my princess?" He asked, hovering over her tiny body.

"I want... A b-baby..." She stammered, blushing.

He smiled and whispered in A low, gruff, Spanish growl

"Yo también, mi amor."
(So do I, My love...)

He Nipped her neck, they had been through this once before.

She moved to give him more room, and tangled her fingers in his hair.

"Are you sure you want to do this? I don't want to force anything on you that your not ready for." He asked, hesitant.

"I'm sure.... I want to bring a child into the world with you..." She rekindled a fire in his heart and he nodded.

"If your sure, then I'm ready."
