Chapter 31: The Joys of Fatherhood + Lets Tie the Knot.

He fed Luna(the new puppy) while Aphmau feed Aurora.

He was high on life, and even more so on love. And after Luna feel asleep on his lap, he lowered her into the box next to Impacts bed.

He felt the box bang against his pocket. And he felt as if his entire life had been building up to this.

He had to go through a lot to get it, and now that he had. He was going to do what he has been wanting to do since the Vault.

It was noon, and he was going to wait till later to ask her, if the weather held up.

Aurora had started to crawl around the place, and she was almost 6 months old.

Baby proofing was a waste of time, if was blocked off she would find a way around it. If it was covered she would rip the cover off.

She also liked to squeeze Impact's nose, tail and ears. And Impact loved to cover her in dog drool. Much to Aphmau's delight.

She had also taken to babbling, a lot..... in the middle of the night.

But there was one thing that had been nagging in the back of his mind.

What if she says no, what if it's to soon?

And a million other what if's plagued his mind.

But he couldn't think about that at the moment. He was still getting courage to ask her.

And then there was the fact that he wanted a baby. But he was a little scared to ask her, how would she take a question like that?

He took a glance at the clock, and realized how long he had been just staring into space.

It was time, the sun was just starting to set and he went to find Aphmau.

He found her coddling Aurora, tickling her and giggling.

"Hey. How's my two favorite girls doing?" He said pulling up a barely stable chair next to them.

"Fine." She was tired, she also wanted a baby with him , and it had been next to 4 months since his last attempt.

"You should get some rest, you sound tired." He said, grabbing her hand and caressing it. Holding Aurora with the other.

"But there was something I wanted to ask you before you do...." He trailed off, smiling at the both of them.

He fumbled with the small black box in his pocket. And very slowly, got on one knee. He had seen himself do this a thousand times, and now he was finally doing it.

She gasped and tears welled up into her eyes. His hand gripping hers tightly, He wanted so badly to be with her, and he didn't care anymore about Ivan or his ex, who he needed was right in front of him.

"Aphmau... you brought light in my life, where there was only darkness. And now, you've let me see that there's more to life than just surviving. " He looked down and pulled the box out of his pocket. Smiling up at her.

"When we first met, I didn't know what to think, I thought you were crazy. And you probably thought the same about me..." Tears started falling from her face, and he caught them with his finger.
