Aaron paced around the station, moderately worried about Aphmau. Who at the moment was shivering under the covers from another cold flash.
Ever since Ivan came over( he had finally gotten his name out of her) she had been really sick. Hot and cold flashes. Morning sickness. nausea, headaches. The whole package of nasty.
He had heated up a rag and placed it on her head. Hopefully it would make her fever break.
She had forbid him to get close to her. But when she was asleep. Or her fever so high she was delusional. He took that as his chance to try and help.
She had tried to call him multiple different names in her sleep. He couldn't tell what she was actually trying to say though.
"A-Aaron..." Her voice croaked, it was weak. She was slipping in and out of consciousness. But he came over anyway.
"What is it, what's wrong?" He felt her forehead. It was really hot.
"I..." she slipped into a fever dream. Her breath slowed. And then evened.
He reheated the rag and replaced in on her head. Pushing some hair out of her face.
Impact lay protectively on the foot of the bed. His head sticking up with every sudden movement.
Aaron didn't care if he got sick. In fact, as long as he could remember, he had never gotten sick. Not even a cold. Once again, he blamed the radiation in his system.
Interrupting his thoughts, Impact growled. And Aaron could hear faint footsteps outside.
Then a muffled laugh and some babble. He realized that it was two people. He grabbed his mask and told Impact to stay there.
Someone knocked in the door, and Impact went crazy. Barking and showing his very sharp teeth.
"Impact, Calm down!" Aaron shouted, this time Impact falling silent.
He opened the door, it find two very clean looking men.
One was blonde, had ice blue eyes, and had a large sword strapped to the back of him. A shield strapped to his side. He looked like a knight.
The other, slightly shorter. Had brown hair, dull blue eyes. A sarcastic smirk. And he had two blood red swords slung across his back.
"Uh, sorry to barge in like this." The blonde one started, he had a thick English accent.
"But were looking for someone. A girl, she's a friend of ours. We wanted to see if she was okay."
Aaron stared at them, he could tell that they were serious. And that they cared about their friend.
"Names?" Aaron asked gruffly, still not letting them inside.
"Oh, of course. My name is Garroth, this is Laurence. He, doesn't talk much."
Laurence nodded, and looked up at Aaron's mask.
"And you are...?"
"Hmm... Call me Aaron. What's this girls name?"
"She's in there Garroth, I can sense her." Laurence butted in suddenly. His eyes closed.
"What?" Aaron and Garroth said at the same time.
"Aph is in there." He said again, this time looking at Garroth.
"Aphmau?" Aaron said confused, "what about her?" He felt his rage building. He wasn't gonna let a second Ivan incident happen.
"Calm down, we are her friends, she is sick, and you want to help her, right?" Laurence spoke again. Not ceasing to be creepy.
"H-how?" Aaron's facade broke, he was honestly astonished. He had never met a seer before.
"You know how." He said, a huge smirk on his face.
Garroth laughed, and punched his friends shoulder.
"Stop, now your just showing off." The blonde chuckled, shooting a glance inside.
"Can we come in?" He asked politely. Smiling cutely.
Aaron chuckled at the two, they certainly were odd. He moved out of the way and let them inside.
Impact slowly wandered up to them, and sniffed them. He took kindly immediately to Garroth. But was wary of Laurence.
"Nice dog. Pit?" Garroth asked, scratching him on the head.
"Yeah..."
They walked over to the bed where Aphmau lay. Aaron checked her head again, her fever had gone down a little. It had finally broken.
He let a sigh of relief escape his mouth. He was worried he might have to try and find some meds.
"Her fevers finally broken, it should be an easy battle now." He said to the two, Unclipping his mask.
Garroth blushed, and Laurence's smirk got larger. Aaron had mostly forgotten his facade. Even the accent he had put on was fading.
Aphmau moved, still very sick. But after a little rest she would be fine.
"Woah..." Garroth was still staring at Aaron, suddenly realizing Laurence was eyeing him. He looked away, embarrassed.
"So, why are you two here, now. She's been here for months." Aaron asked flopping down in his torn armchair.
"All of us got worried, at the vault, we never really get sick or, have any problems. After she didn't respond to our letter a month ago. We started looking for her." Garroth explained. Looking at Impact. Who had taken his spot on Aaron's lap.
"Ah I see, so you guys came from a vault. That makes sense." Aaron said, mostly to himself.
"You like her." Laurence said, staring at Aaron again.
"Would you stop reading my thoughts." Aaron said, irritated.
"I didn't need to for that one." Laurence smiled "It's obvious."
Doubtful, Aaron squinted his eyes and said:
"How so?"
With a quick smile, Laurence replied:
"Well, the fact that when we mentioned her, your heart started beating twice as fast. The first thing you did when we came in, was check on her."
"Oh, and the fact you just admitted it." He had a satisfied smirk on his face.
Blushing. Aaron looked at the ground, cursing himself for being so stupid.
"Oh..."
