Cheryl instantly burst out laughing as she spotted Lily beaming through the car window, waving like a lunatic whilst wearing a Newcastle United football shirt and scarf. “Haha...what the hell are ya doing ya nutter?!” she giggled as she climbed into the car next to her, tugging at the scarf which was draped around Lily’s neck.
“Dad attacked her with it this morning when she came to pick me up!” Gary laughed, turning around in the front seat of the car as they began driving down the road.
“Yeah, apparently I’m too southern and need Geordied up!” Lily chuckled as Cheryl burst out laughing again.
“Haha...well it suits ya babe...ya can be an adopted Geordie for the day!” Cheryl smiled as Gary watched, shaking his head as he giggled along with them.
“Wey aye man!” Lily joked with a smug expression on her face before suddenly gasping as she remembered something she had to tell Cheryl.
“Haha...what now?” Cheryl grinned, noticing Lily’s sudden excitement.
“Oh my God! Guess what I got the dates for last night?!!!” she began bouncing on her seat as Cheryl laughed, shrugging her shoulders.
“Cannes Film Festival!!!! It’s only like a few weeks away as well!...You know what that means don’t ya?...Glamorous Chezbomb makes her fabulous return!” Lily beamed, dancing around in her seat as Cheryl began clapping her hands excitedly.
“Haha...you only love it cos you get a nice dress to wear as well!” Cheryl scrunched her nose up as Lily nodded enthusiastically. “Oh but I love Cannes...it’s like my favourite event we do! Do they have any dresses for me yet?” she asked eagerly, buzzing at the prospect of it.
“They said they’d send me some designs in a few days, I think you've got 3 to choose from!...They’ll all be stunning though won’t they?! Me and Lisa were having a major buzz about it on the phone last night...haha...she can’t wait, honestly!” Lily spoke excitedly as Cheryl listened, beaming from ear to ear.
“They’re only fricken dresses!” Gary whined jokingly from the front seat.
Cheryl gasped sarcastically with Lily before playfully replying “wash your mouth out, Gary Tweedy!”
Once again, Cheryl thoroughly enjoyed her morning of radio interviews and just as Lily had told her the day before, there was no way of hiding how happy she was at the moment as she giggled her way through every radio show and answered the presenters questions with such cheeky come backs that everybody was in regular hysterical bursts of laughter at her. As they waited for the next radio show to start, Lily and Cheryl lounged back on the sofa in the green room while Gary had popped out to get a McDonald's as he'd spent the whole morning complaining about his stomach grumbling.
“Did you have a good time last night then?” Lily asked as they both sipped their Starbucks coffees.
“Yeah I loved it!...The kids are growing up so fast though, they're so different to how they were when I seen them at Christmas and that was only like 5 months ago wasn't it?!” Cheryl replied, smiling as Lily awed.
“It’s crazy how fast they grow up!...Every time I see my little Godson, he seems 10x more grown up than the last time I seen him. Is your sister good?” Lily asked, giggling slightly as Cheryl took her heels off and curled her legs under her on the sofa, making herself at home.
“She looks like she’s gonna burst at any second Lils, honestly!...it was so cute though, I could feel the baby kicking my hand and everything, it’s amazing!” she gushed as Lily laughed at how animated Cheryl’s face was as she talked about it. “Babe, can you make sure I have a couple of days off when he’s born?...I really want to see him. I never got to see Jake until he was like 3 months old! I hate missing all this stuff!” she asked, a bit more poignant.
