Cheryl’s eyes were darting everywhere as they began strolling through Central Park; the picturesque lakes where couples were calmly sat in rowing boats, people reading on park benches and relaxing on the huge rocks that stuck out from the ground, beautiful flower displays and hundreds of blossoming trees making everything look like some magical fairyland. She smiled brightly watching little children climbing over the famous Alice and Wonderland statue and playing in the many playgrounds scattered around the park, giggling at all the dogs which were out for their walks, many of which were wearing tiny shoes and little outfits. Tre’s eyes however were focussed solely on one thing... Cheryl. He couldn't stop watching how animated and happy her face was, seeing her eyes sparkling at the simplest things that he would normally take for granted as he had been coming to New York pretty much his whole life. He had loaded all of their shopping bags into one hand so he could hold hers with his other, being pulled this way and that whenever she spotted something new. He chuckled as he watched her fussing over a giant St. Bernard dog which was sat with its owner who was changing into some trainers to go for a jog. She didn't seem to care that she was getting dog slobber all over her hands as she stroked around its huge face, its tongue lolling heavily out of one side. It was at this point however, that he did allow his eyes to leave her for a second as he ran away from her quickly whilst she chased him, trying to wipe her slimy hands all over him, laughing hysterically until she finally wiped them on the grass.
“Come on gorgeous, let’s go and get a drink at that boathouse cafe by the lake” he smiled as she beamed back at him, taking his hand as they walked across the pretty little bridge over to where the cafe was on the water’s edge.
Cheryl went to sit at a table outside, watching the swans on the lake and the rowing boats which were bobbing around while Tre went inside to get them some drinks. She was fascinated by how New Yorkers lived and she absolutely loved it, watching a grandfather crouching down by the lakeside with his two little grandchildren, showing them the fish while right next to them there was a woman by herself doing yoga on a mat she had brought with her. Cheryl giggled quietly to herself which amused Tre who was carefully walking over to her with two lattes on a tray. “What are you giggling at... dimples?” he smirked as he joined her at the table, grabbing her attention as she turned back around in her seat to face him.
“Haha...nothing really!... I just love all this, I feel like I’m in a film or something, nothing seems real!” she grinned as Tre put her drink down in front of her and sat down with his own.
“I feel like that every morning when I see you lying next to me” he smiled as she awed loudly at him.
“Awwwww....you absolute, incredible, enormous sick bucket you!!!” she joked before throwing her head back, giggling uncontrollably as he chuckled into his hands, shaking his head at how cheesy he had just been.
“Urghh...that was pretty bad even for me weren't it?...it’s true though!” he groaned as she playfully pinched his cheek, making him smile and his eyes twinkle brightly.
“You are so adorable Tre... I swear you were like a care bear in a past life!” she gushed as he raised an eyebrow at her, making her giggle. “I love you...soppy!” she smiled, before softly kissing his lips as he gently stroked the back of his hand down her cheek.
“I love you too... Bambi eyes” he nuzzled his nose against hers as she jokingly fluttered her eyelashes making him laugh joyfully just before he once again lay his lips against hers, kissing her adoringly.
The couple sat with their drinks in the sunshine, having the best day together. Cheryl had gone back to watching the sweet, old grandfather with his grandchildren who he was now showing how to sail the little remote control boats they each had. Tre followed her gaze, smiling as he affectionately caressed her hand with his thumb, being able to clearly see what a great time she was having, just from her face. “What are you thinking?” he smiled, gaining her attention again as she turned away from the grandfather down by the lake.
