The atmosphere was very groggy the next morning in Cannes as the gang all met for breakfast in the hotel after the party the night before. They all seemed to share the bags under their eyes, the thumping headaches and were all fighting the urge to fall asleep at the table; all except Cheryl who was actually feeling wide awake after not drinking too much all night, not wanting to risk ruining the extremely expensive designer dress she had been wearing and who was literally buzzing to go home, even though she'd had an amazing couple of days. The looks she was receiving from the rest of them as she hummed a cheerful little tune to herself while she tucked into her French toast were deathly, but she was none the wiser. “Yanno it’s just typical isn't it?” Cheryl began speaking as the rest all moaned, not really up for a chat. “...it’s like the perfect sunny day the first day we get here, then it absolutely chucks it down when I have to walk the red carpet and now that it’s time to go home, it’s all sunny again!...I mean seriously, when it comes to the weather I have the worst luck!” she chuckled, looking up to see the rest of them all just looking at her, straight faced. “You guys are looking rough man!...yas better not throw up on the plane!”
“Urghh...who’d have thought a fancy cocktail party could get so messy?!...haven’t felt this bad in ages!” Lily groaned, trying her best to eat her breakfast, but struggling to keep it down.
“I think it’s cos we didn't eat much beforehand!...I mean even I feel like sh!t and I’m a bloody good drinker!” Steve added, rubbing his forehead as Gary agreed, not actually taking the risk to speak as he felt he could throw up at any moment.
“Haha...this is so satisfying being the awake one on the morning for once...you guys need to get a grip, honestly you bunch of sissies!” Cheryl joked before thanking the waiter who'd come to take away her empty plate. “Is everyone packed so that we can just go?!” she asked, receiving a raised eyebrow from Lily which made Lisa start chuckling beside her.
“Have you swapped places with me or something?...Jheeze that was creepy, go back to being the normal, unorganised Cheryl please!” Lily replied, shocked at the fact Cheryl seemed to have taken over her role.
“Haha...just checking you’re all ready!...I wanna go, come on!” she jumped up excitedly, watching as the rest all whined and complained, pulling themselves up from the table before following Cheryl out to grab their suitcases and go to the airport.
Meanwhile, across the English Channel, Tre had just returned from the shops where he'd gone to buy Cheryl some flowers for when she got back and a bottle of wine, hoping that they could have a nice night in together after missing her so much. He’d made sure the house was nice and tidy and was desperately trying to find other little jobs he could do to distract himself until she got home; he only had an hour left to wait but it was literally driving him mad. “Come on, come on, come on!!!” he groaned as he lay on the sofa, feeling like the hands on the clock weren't even moving, time was dragging by so incredibly slowly. The pictures of Cheryl at Cannes were absolutely everywhere, she had been on TV all morning, all of the newspapers in the shop Tre had been into had her on all the front pages and the internet was overflowing with images of how she had stolen the limelight from everybody else. He had felt so proud of her when he had been in the shop in Cheryl’s local village when the guy behind the till had told him how amazing she looked as Tre had been to this shop a few times now and so they knew who he was. The butterflies in his stomach were mounting as the time finally seemed to be ticking by, getting closer and closer to when she was due to arrive back.
At last, a while later, Tre suddenly heard a car pulling up onto the gravel of Cheryl’s driveway making him immediately jump up and run to the door, the excitement to actually see her making him want to burst. As soon as he seen her climbing out of the car with her pink suitcase, wearing a cute pale pink playsuit with a gold chain belt, her flowing hair still draped perfectly over one shoulder, just as it had been last night, his breath was once again totally taken away. “CHERYL!!!...” he yelled loudly, leaping down the steps from her front door and running over to her as she spun around with a beaming smile on her face before being picked up in the air by an extremely happy Tre. “This has been the longest morning of my life babe, honestly...haha!...you look beautiful” he told her enthusiastically, hearing her giggling over his shoulder as she'd wrapped her arms around his neck while he continued holding her up, finally feeling her warm body against him.
“Haha...did you miss me?” she chuckled as he put her back down, keeping his hands rested on her hips as he gazed down into her sparkling brown eyes looking up at him, her dimples completely melting his heart.
“I missed you so much babe!...I didn't realise how much I talk to you and stuff until you’re not there!” he grinned as she reached her hand up and affectionately stroked his face, smiling even more as he moved his head to kiss her hand.
“I missed you too!...I’m kidnapping you next week, you’re not going away!” she stuck her bottom lip out before wrapping her arms tightly around him and snuggling her head against his chest as he hugged her in, resting his head on top of hers.
“Haha...OK, I’m down with that!...don’t think about that though baby” he kissed the top of her head, feeling her softly stroking his back as she held on to him.
“You've been working out babe haven’t you?” she suddenly smirked, looking up at him with a cheeky glint in her eye which made him laugh as he picked her back up, encouraging her to wrap her legs around his waist.
“Haha!...yeah I have!...can you tell already?” he chuckled, as she rested her forehead against his, looking so happy.
“Yeah, your chest feels all hard and muscley...I like it” she winked, making him throw his head back laughing before pressing his lips against hers, feeling her warm tongue enter his mouth and caress his own while he softly moved his thumbs tenderly against her bum as he held her up. The soothing feeling he got from her lightly scratching the back of his head as she kissed him made Tre want to stay in this moment forever, despite hearing Gary loudly complaining in the background and Lily wolf whistling at them. After feeling her lips move into a smile, he pulled away, lovingly kissing the tip of her nose as he did so and completely getting lost in her eyes which were so mesmerising to him.
“What’s this gorgeous smile for?” he grinned, nuzzling her nose as she scrunched it up.
“I’m just so happy to see you!...I wish I could just take your cuddles everywhere with me and then I’d be alright...” she answered, making him aww and lightly kiss her lips again.
“Well we’ll just cuddle up all day today, yeah?...make up for the last couple of days” he smiled as she pouted adorably at him, nodding her head.
“Sounds perfect...love you Tre, a lot” she gazed into his warm eyes, having missed them so much while he jokingly puckered his lips together, wanting another kiss which she happily gave him before they both started giggling at each other.
“Yo Chez...put him down for a minute and come and give me a hug, I’m going!” Lily called over from the car as Tre slowly lowered Cheryl back to the ground before she ran over to Lily who squeezed her into a big cuddle. “Happy now?...” she joked as Cheryl looked back, nodding her head with a cheesy grin on her face. “Numpty!” Lily playfully shoved her as she began laughing.
“Shut up!...anyway, when do I next see you?...Monday?” Cheryl smirked as Lily was chuckling at Tre who was twirling his hand around, telling her to hurry up so he could have her back.
“Haha...yeah...11am please Missy!...and don’t be late this time!” Lily replied, pointing a warning finger at her as Cheryl bit her lip whilst nodding her head whilst she saluted. “Good girl...now get back to him before he bursts!” she nodded towards Tre who was still watching Cheryl, not being able to take his eyes off her.
“Eeeee!!!” Cheryl grinned excitedly, making Lily shake her head while she giggled and pulled her in for one last hug. “Haha...see ya Monday Lils...love ya!” Cheryl called before she skipped back to Tre who instantly put his arm around her shoulder and picked her suitcase up with his other hand as they walked back towards the front door.
