Your POV

I frantically held onto both of them and teleported away.

My legs went weak as I touched the ground on the other side and I fell.

I had no energy left, allowing my body to lie motionlessly on the ground.

My eyelids got heavier and I all I saw was black before I knew it.

" Ugh.... My head hurts.. "

I rubbed my eyes, having awoken from a deep slumber.

Where am I... Where.. Is Raymond?

My eyes opened and I saw Father.

" How is Raymond? " The words instantly popped out of my mouth. He shot me a you-can't-be-serious look. " ..And Rachel? "

Oh no. He saw through my act.

I expected a lecture, but all I heard was, " No need to be so sneaky about liking someone, it's not like I'm objecting. "

" What are you talking about? I'll go take a look at him.. I mean them now. "

I scurried to Raymond's room.

" Hey.... " I said as I knocked on the door.

He wasn't there, so I went to the training grounds, and I found him there.

" Raymond! I'm so glad you're ok! "

" I know, too many girls like me. Don't worry, you'll be able to see me more now since I'm staying here all day. "

" Hey! Stop being so egoistic, will you? "

" Ok, time to be serious. Remember one year ago? That sound your heard? " He brought me to a corner.

" Um.. What about it? "

" Well, the truth is The Management knocked open part of the 400-year-old barrier that protected us to capture some of the zombies and use them for experiments. Don't tell anyone else, only your parents and the elders know about this. "

I was astonished by how selfish The Management was. We had no idea how dangerous the zombies were. I complied anyways.

" This is top-secret and after all, breaking this barrier could be the start to a second zombie apocalypse. "

" All the more we should practice and defend ourselves! " I replied as I cheekily shooting a small fireball at him.

" You should rest, you just exhausted yourself yesterday. " He blocked it with a water barrier.

" I'm bored... "

" Alright, but just for a while. "

Although still slightly bothered by the zombies, I prepared myself for the match.

He went first, and started with the classic fireball (which you guys should have known by now) and used an wind barrier against me.

As he prepared to blast me with water, I took control of his wind barrier and the wind pushed the water against him just as he shot it.

" How sneaky, using my own magic against me. Nice one. "

I chuckled.

" Another match? "

He started without warning and tried to surprise me by teleporting behind me with fire magic and shooting fireballs at me again, but I promptly dodged and tried using layers of offensive fire and water barriers. He used a strong wind barrier to block them but I shot a few fireballs at him which he failed to dodge. The fireballs landed on his shirt and they just extinguished.

" Good thing our shirts are element-proof, if not I would have died! "

" Just luck. " I said, attempting to sound humble.

" I'm tired, you should be too. You just exhausted yourself yesterday, don't wear yourself out again. Take a rest. "

He held my hand and teleported to a cafe.

" We're beside the hall now. This is just a place for people to have food and stuff. Allow me to show you around. "

Shouldn't have delayed this book for so long but it's here! I'm not revealing anything else so far just because I have no ideas.
