Midnight was fast approaching.
Jimin was exhausted - trying to figure out a way to discover where he stood with Yoongi was proving to be far harder than he first thought. Merely picturing Yoongi's reaction made his stomach churn, and what was supposed to be minutes of plotting turned into hours.
Barely being able to keep his eyes open, he looked again over the abundance of pages scattered across his desk. Endless elaborate schemes were scrawled across them, yet he simply couldn't bring himself to go through with any of them. He was far too nervous; he couldn't stop thinking about what had happened.
Did he make him uncomfortable when he claimed to be his boyfriend? After all, he did force it on him rather quickly - they had only known each other for a number of weeks.
But Yoongi did agree that he wanted Jimin to be his boyfriend, right? He gave into the kiss, too, and the pair had barely been apart since their first encounter.
He was just being paranoid, surely it was the obvious next move. All he had to do was ask him out, properly.
In a surge of excitement, he reached for his phone and opened his contacts. Holding his breath suddenly, he dialled Yoongi's number.
It barely rung before the call was answered.
"Hey." A sleepy Yoongi almost growled.
"Hey!" Jimin cried, a smile instantly spreading across his cheeks at the sound of his favourite voice.
"You're up late." Yoongi remarked. His voice seemed deeper than usual - Jimin hoped it was because he was tired and not because of a cold.
"So are you." Jimin pointed out.
"True," he quickly agreed, clearing his throat, "What are you doing?"
"Oh, just looking longingly out of the window and thinking about you." Jimin swooned melodramatically.
"Oh, right. Of course you are." Yoongi chuckled in response, clearly noting his sarcasm.
"Okay, I might have over exaggerated a little, but, I am thinking about you." He sighed, suddenly sounding deep in thought.
"Really?" Yoongi questioned.
"Yes. I don't think I've stopped." He admitted, releasing a nervous giggle.
He was beginning to realise just how at ease he felt when speaking to Yoongi. Why was he so scared before?
"Well, that's a relief. I haven't stopped thinking about you either." Yoongi confessed.
"Well, this is incredibly cheesy." Jimin whispered, not being able to control the pounding in his chest.
"Too cheesy?" He asked.
"Not yet," he softly replied, remembering the task at hand, "I wanted to ask you something."
"You did?"
"Yes, but I want to ask in person." Jimin nodded decisively. This was it.
"I can't say it's not a relief - I'm practically falling asleep right now." Yoongi sighed, jokingly making snoring noises and making Jimin laugh again.
"I look forward to it, though." He added as the laughter subsided.
Jimin felt his heart warm, as it always seemed to do.
"Me too. Goodnight, Min Yoongi."
"Goodnight, Park Jimin."
