The obnoxiously loud humming of Yoongi's alarm was surprisingly comforting as it lured him out of his restless sleep; it finally drew to a close the inevitable tossing and turning that he had been enduring all night. At the end of any other summer this day would be exciting - getting to return home and reunite with his parents and friends was always something he looked forward too - however this time, the usual impatient rumble of butterflies in his stomach had been exchanged for a bittersweet aching in his chest. An aching that he knew, paired with his lack of sleep, only meant one thing.

He was leaving Jimin today.

He'd brushed over the fact numerous times in his head, occasionally plotting the odd elaborate scenario that would make him able to stay, but somewhere inside he had always known that it was going to happen. It was unrealistic for him to think that something so perfect would never end.

Was it really ending?

He heaved his eyes open and reluctantly crawled out from under the warmth of his sheets, balancing himself on his beside table as he went to stand. At the distant end of his room, a somewhat neat mess of clothing hung on his door, ironed and waiting to be worn. With a dull pain rising in his legs, (most likely due to their prolonged inactivity), he slowly ambled toward them, subconsciously replaying his treasured scenes of the summer over and over in the haze of his half-asleep mind. As he tugged each item of its hanger and dragged them back to his bed to change, he pictured every moment he had spent with Jimin over the last few months.

All at once, the only thing he could see was the distinct brightness of Jimin's eyes as he smiled, and the only sounds he could hear were the melodic hitches to his laugh.

Of course it wasn't ending - Yoongi was never going to let it.

Unbuttoning his shirt, he smirked to himself as he remembered the first time they met. He cold never forget the way that Jimin's contagious grin and playful personality instantly struck him, or how he knew right away that they were connected somehow. He'd never have guessed that they'd end up becoming as close as they were now, but he was certainly not unhappy about it. In fact, these days he found himself happier than he'd ever been.

Before he knew it, he found himself fully dressed, shakily running a comb through his hair in the mirror as he heard the low echo of his Grandfather's voice from below him.

"Yoongi! We're just filling up the car!" He called, the lively jingling of keys sounding out in equal measure to his words.

"Okay!" Yoongi replied.

He took a final glance at himself, slowly nodding as he decided his appearance was acceptable enough for the car journey, even if sleepy and dishevelled. He hastily picked up his shoes and hurried down the stairs to put them on, his footsteps trembling as his nerves resurfaced. He'd never been so nervous to leave somewhere before - this must have been an indication of how important Jimin was to him. He had to steady his hands as he tied his laces, but soon enough they were as securely tightened as they could be, and he was almost ready to go.

Drawing his phone from his pocket and unlocking it with a swift click he cautiously looked at the time on the illuminated screen.

9:15. He should be here, he thought.

Almost as if on cue, and just as doubts began to circulate through his veins, there was a knock on the door. Yoongi's heart practically stopped. He froze for a moment, suddenly realising that this would be the last time he'd see him for months, but immediately launched himself up from his seat and toward the door as he accepted that he had to seize the moment while it lasted.

This was truly it.

He unlocked the door to see what he knew would come to be his favourite sight in the world. A blushing Jimin was barely visible behind the largest and most beautiful bouquet of flowers he had ever seen, however from what Yoongi could tell from the delicate sound of muffled sobs, he was starting to cry. The unfamiliar coldness of droplets beginning to form in his own eyes took Yoongi by surprise, yet didn't stop him from forcefully lifting the bouquet from his boyfriend's arms, placing it onto the bottom stair, and locking him into his embrace.

"I'm going to miss you so much, you know that?" Jimin breathed into his shoulder, struggling to speak audibly as his sobbing intensified.

"I know," Yoongi began, carefully pulling away, "but I'll be back soon, so don't you dare forget about me!"

Jimin giggled, shakily lifting a sleeve to wipe his tears away. "How could I forget about you, Min Yoongi?"

"That's right. Remember that name." He firmly told him, gripping his shoulders seriously.

"You speak as if we're not going to be texting each other every second of the day." Jimin remarked, poking him playfully as he seemingly always did.

"It's not the same though, is it?" Yoongi replied, sweetly tucking a stray strand of the shorter boy's hair behind his ear. He couldn't help it; he had to do everything he wouldn't be able to do in the upcoming months now, and that meant treasuring Jimin to his every last detail.

"I guess not," Jimin shrugged in response, "you'd better kiss me one last time, then."

His trademark cheeky grin was uncontrollable the second he suggested the idea, and Yoongi never wanted it to end.

"Oh really? I'm not sure about that...maybe I should keep you waiting for next time..." He teased, suggestively tapping his fingers against Jimin's waist.

Jimin merely scowled, clearly communicating to Yoongi that despite his playful tone, he was incredibly serious.

"Okay, okay. Your wish is my command." Yoongi chuckled, steadily leaning in to kiss him.

"Shut up, dork." Jimin scoffed, confidently placing his hands onto Yoongi's neck and hauling him inwards before he could resist.

Their lips collided with a force and for a few passionate and desperate seconds at least, they felt infinite. Sure, summer might have been drawing to a close, but as the helplessly infatuated two clung onto each other as if their lives depended on it, they knew for certain that the way they felt about each other never would.

FIN

WOW OH WOW WHAT A FINALE! Hopefully all that dramatic build up was worth it in the end! Yeah, it was cheesy and all, but that's good sometimes. I love cheese.

Anyways, I have absolutely loved being a part of this story. It's been such a pleasure to work with one of my closest friends on such a lovely thing and although I'm sad that it has to end, I'm very happy to have contributed to it, even if with occasionally very questionable chapters... In all seriousness, I'm so, so proud of us for making it all this way and I do really think that even if only in a small way, this story has helped me to develop as a writer, and I'm incredibly grateful to have had the chance to write for it! Please continue to support Nikita because she's amaze, and thank you so much for reading this.

Have the best day!

For the last time,
