"Yoongi! What's up? What can I get you?" A slightly tired-looking Seokjin smiled sweetly.
"Ah, just a vanilla please." Yoongi answered, his voice barely a whisper as he sheepishly slid onto one of the stools.
Seokjin took a slow step back, squinting curiously at the boy before him. Almost as if he was inspecting him, he remained in the same position for a moment or two, his train of thought so loud that Yoongi almost thought he could hear the screws in his mind overworking. His eyes suddenly widened; clearly he had just had some sort of realisation. This was confirmed when the light-haired boy leaned over the counter to speak once again.
"Yep. I was gonna say I guessed by the look on your face, but now I know that something's wrong." Seokjin nodded matter-of-factly.
Yoongi was baffled - had he really let it show that much? How could he have he known? Had Jimin spoken to him already?
"What?" He replied, pretending not to know what he was talking about.
Seokjin shot him a surprised look.
"You always get chocolate, duh!" He cried, melodramatically flinging his arms in the air.
"Oh, right." Yoongi chuckled, suddenly relieved Jimin had not said anything to him. Still, he was reluctant to discuss what had happened.
"Tell me what's up then, kiddo!" Seokjin exclaimed, quickly grabbing a scoop and opening the generous tub of vanilla ice-cream.
"Okay." Yoongi reluctantly agreed; he couldn't help but accept defeat at the sight of his friend's understanding grin.
"Here you go, one vanilla." Seokjin hurriedly handed him the cone before pulling himself up a chair.
"To cut a long story short - I ended up asking Jimin why he's afraid of the water." Yoongi blurtered out regretfully, barely pausing to breathe.
Seokjin's previous expression of shock was nothing compared to this one - his jaw practically hit the floor in amazement.
"Woah? You did?" His eyebrows were only raising higher and higher as he breathed.
Yoongi released a hefty sigh.
"Everybody seems to know why but me. It just feels like he doesn't trust me, you know?"
"Aish, that's tricky. How did he react?" Seokjin asked, his expression softening.
"He was clearly upset about it. I didn't push him to answer, of course, but I could tell he wasn't happy." Yoongi frowned, taking a very particular bite from the ice cream in his hand.
"Oh dear," Seokjin stammered, "What about you?"
Yoongi stopped for a moment, recalling how he reacted. He tried his hardest not to show his disappointment, but knew he must have done somehow. What if that only hindered the situation more?
"I tried not to seem touchy, but it did hurt me a bit. I'm his boyfriend, he should feel like he can me these things, right?" He replied, concern lingering in his voice.
"Well...I wouldn't get upset about it, honestly," Seokjin began, "I don't want to say why - it's not my business - but it's always been hard for him to talk about this. Jimin probably trusts you more than anyone, I just think it's more that he's scared."
"Well, he did say something about a painful memory..." Yoongi thought aloud, deeply hoping Seokjin was right.
"That will be it then. Maybe he just needs some time, and then when he's ready he'll tell you." He confidently nodded.
"I guess so. Thanks, Seokjin-hyung."
"Of course. You two will sort it out, I'm sure of it!" He beamed hopefully, an equally bright smile quickly spreading across his friend's cheeks.
Yoongi lifted his wrist to check his watch. Noticing he had five minutes until his shift began, he quickly finished the remainder of his ice cream and heaved himself up from the stool.
"Well, I've got a shift now, so here you go." He said gloomily.
He pulled out his wallet, fumbling around for a moment before collecting the right change and sliding it across the counter to Seokjin.
"Ah, no. It's on me today." He replied, happily sliding the money back.
"Really? Thank you hyung!" Yoongi lit up.
For a second he wondered why his friend was being so generous, however as he noticed Namjoon approaching, it quickly became clear to him. This was cute, he thought.
"Sure! I'm rooting for you two, okay? Don't mess it up!" Seokjin waved.
"I won't, I promise."

Hopefully this is okay! It's a lot of dialogue and I know that's not my strong point so if there are any mistakes please let me know. If I get the chance I will come back to improve this one, but for now I just needed it up!
