Lucifer stood over the body of a young male, bruising around his neck, clearly strangled. A crime of passion. Ella was snapping pictures left and right, commenting on all the injuries inflicted on the male and the woman with a slashed throat in the room next door. That's where Chloe was, he'd avoided her as much as he could, knowing she'd probably bombard him with more questions of what was going on but he couldn't exactly say, oh, I've been so closed off lately because I murdered my brother in order to save you and my mother - minor incident but now I feel awful and my father is going to try and torture me as much as he can.

He let out a heavy sigh ashamed of himself, Ella heard glancing over her shoulder and nodding in agreement, causing Lucifer's eyebrows to furrow in confusion.

"I know, it's awful right? I mean why kill someone? Look at this poor corpse I bet he was just another poor soul that ended up in the way of something he wasn't supposed to." Ella sympathised, taking a moment to snap a final picture of the injuries.

Lucifer felt his eyes flicker red in anger but calmed himself, knowing there were too many humans around. Alongside the one he truly cared for.

"Maybe it was an act of self defense, or maybe he deserved it." Lucifer accused, his voice callous. Ella looked up baffled by his sudden dark attitude but she simply shrugged it off as she usually did.

"No one deserves to die, at least he'll be up there with the big guy now, dancing in the clouds." Ella continued under her breath, skimming through her photos on her camera then rising to her feet to exit the depressing atmosphere.

Lucifer scoffed in disagreement, he didn't understand why humans worshipped his father so. Lucifer allowed his eyes to scan the body of the man before turning to leave the room, almost colliding into Chloe. But his quick reflexes, caught her just in time. Blue eyes twinkled as she met brown, the woman pleased to see him. A blush running along her cheeks as the comforting touch of his hands.

"Lucifer. I was just looking for you. The woman next door had several cuts along her arms and legs. I don't think they were just random cuts that got caught in the fight for her life." Chloe informed him.

The short woman peering over Lucifer's shoulder which was difficult seem as he was so much taller than her, he noticed with a small smile and stepped aside out of her view.

"Maybe it was some sort of weird torture."

"The man in there was strangled, Ella was taking some photos, the investigators searched him for anything that could lead us to the guy - fingerprints and stuff - but there was nothing." Lucifer informed her, making sure not to miss out a detail. Chloe actually admired the fact he was taking his job seriously for once, not commenting on the killers handy work or the state of the house.

"Right, so we've got nothing to work with except the neighbour who found the woman's body, I asked her a few questions beforehand; she said she'd came over seem as she hadn't heard from them in a few days." Chloe began, the pair walking to one of the windows that the faced the neighbours house. "The lady had told me she looked in the window and saw the pool of blood, she went to hers, grabbed the spare key and found the woman but she had no idea about the guy, until we got here and found him."

"So she had a spare key? You sure she wasn't already in the house and killed them, took their spare key and said it was hers and made up the rest of how she found them?" Lucifer enquired, dusting himself down. Chloe was a little speechless for a moment was quick to snap out of it, reconnecting with Lucifer's eyes.

"Good point. Let's check into her, find out if she thinks anyone would want to kill them and go from there," Chloe instructed absent-mindedly taking hold of Lucifer's hand, making his eyebrows almost shoot off of his forehead, staring down at their joined hands, he couldn't help but notice the warm, fuzzy feeling he felt inside. He wanted to make a silly comment about it but nothing came to mind, allowing her lead him towards a lady stood nervously outside the house, she looked in her mid-fifties, one of those gardening women by the looks of it. "Mrs Anderson? Can we ask a few more questions?"

"Why did you lie about your little story of finding them?" Lucifer interrupted before Chloe could stop him, her mouth fell agape and she swatted Lucifer's arm.

"I-I didn't lie, that's how I found them. I swear." She said hurriedly, her voice shaky at the sudden accusation.

"Sorry, my partner had no right to assume that. No, we just wanted to ask if you think anyone would want to harm Hayley and Gary." Chloe smiled sweetly.

The blonde almost startled when she felt something around her hand, glancing down to notice her hand still in Lucifer's, her cheeks burnt as his thumb stroked the back of her hand, even if she liked it she pulled out of his grip - the woman scratching her neck nervously, clearing her throat and concentrating on the woman.

"No, Hayley was a good neighbour, she used to take care of my cat if I went away to visit my daughter, she was always so nice...I don't know that young boy in there, when they told me to see if I knew him, I-I didn't even know there was a second body." Mrs Anderson answered, water filling her hazel hooded eyes. Lucifer couldn't help but cringe, he hated when people cried. "She did have the odd argument with her ex-boyfriend, his name was...what was it? Kyle, that's it. They broke up a few weeks ago, I remember the argument and when she came around for tea to talk about it, she looked heart broken, I'm not sure if he'd hurt her though, he could be such a sweet boy."

"It's always the ones who act sweet," Lucifer muttered barely above a whisper. Chloe scribbled down the name Kyle and ex-boyfriend beside it.

"Any last name you know of?"

"Yes, Taylor, I believe."

"Kyle Taylor." Lucifer couldn't help but snicker. Chloe elbowed him lightly to shut up, he took the hint and straightened up stifling the laugh.

"Thank you, Mrs Anderson."

The elderly woman nodded, letting Chloe and Lucifer leave, Lucifer looked down at Chloe. Confidence in his words as he told her, "I bet it's her."

"Well if it is, she'd best stay in the country." Chloe mentioned, Lucifer looked back and let out a amused laugh.

"I'm pretty sure she's not going to run, those little wrinkly twigs might just snap," Earning himself an eye roll from the detective before she got into her car. "So, let's go find this Kyle Taylor."

"You laugh at his name but you do realise yours is Lucifer Morningstar, right?" Chloe smirked, seeing his slightly offended expression, the handsome man touching his chest as though he was offended.

"Blame that on the man above, I didn't name myself."

"Yeah sure, I'll just give God a call and tell him he gave you a name that sounds like a stage name, I'll also tell him I don't beli--" She couldn't finish her sentence because Lucifer had pounced over covering her mouth with his hand, Chloe's hand clamping over his as he touched her mouth, shooting daggers at him.

"Don't say that." He warned her, letting go of her mouth slowly, she was startled by his move, narrowing her eyes at him. The blonde rolling her eyes once more and starting the car. "I'm in enough trouble with that man."
