Lucifer leant against the bar, LUX was more lit up than ever, streams of lights bouncing all over the place bringing the party alive. Intense, yet soft music playing over the noise of the humans dancing. Warm colours spread around LUX showing it's elegance, it's class. That it's the dominant go to place in the city of Los Angeles. This is were he belonged. In an environment where he belonged. But he knew he was missing something, and there's no denying it was the Detective, yet he lifted his glass. Casually making his way towards, his gleaming piano, which was centre of the building, showing how grand it really was. It beckoned him, stood there waiting to be played. He hadn't played it in so long, not since Uriel died really, but he was tempted. He sat on the padded stool, letting out a sigh, he had missed the stool, it was so comfortable, it came with the piano when he brought it. He lifted the lid, leaving his hands hovering over the keys. Hesitant of which song to play, but it didn't matter. He pressed a ACE chord, it sounding soft in his ears then placed his other hand a little further down and ran his hands along the keys, making a soft little tune that echoed throughout LUX.
The music was joyfully, having a relaxing tone to it, some settled to listen but others carried on dancing and Lucifer couldn't care less which they do, because when he played the piano, his problems faded away with the notes.Closing the lid on the keys was like returning himself to reality. Immediately he wished he could go back to playing but he looked around LUX with a grin. To some people this was just a club, but to him it was almost everything. His home. His job. His memories. He stood and spotted Linda stood looking at him, she stood in a dress, glass in hand, smiling. Lucifer wasn't really expecting a visit from her but headed over with a smile, he was glad to see her.
"Doctor! What a pleasant surprise!" Lucifer greeted over the booming music playing in the background. Linda took a swig of her drink and looked up at him. She was much smaller than him, she was smaller than the Detective and in Lucifer's opinion the Detective was tiny.
"I heard you play!" She called to him. "I'm guessing you've finished grieving"
"I guess, well I mean the Detective came for a visit today, she told me she missed me, Beatrice too" Lucifer smiled, settling down in a seat beside her. She rolled her eyes, she knew exactly how Lucifer felt about Chloe, it was clear to anyone and even though she was fed up of talking about it, she thought it was adorable the amount of affection Lucifer had for her.
"Well maybe she feels the same way you do" Linda suggested, trying to push him to ask her to dinner. But Lucifer almost glared at her, as though she'd just told him she'd been seeing his brother. Lucifer cleared his throat and turned away, shaking his head.
"No...I don't think that's it, she probably missed my help on the investigations" Lucifer said unsure himself, but straightened his suit and turned his head to the doctor. "Now what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I just came to check you were ok, you haven't been showing up as recent as you usually do" Linda replied with a little shrug. "But it seems your doing well"
"I am, as are you I see" Lucifer smirked, giving her a nudge gesturing towards a miserable looking man. Lucifer hated those types, especially in his club but he was usually miserable himself so he couldn't say much. "Looks like you can cheer him up, doctor"
"Lucifer!" Linda frowned, hating what he was suggesting but let out a sigh and forced herself up. She might as well have some fun herself, seem as all she did all day was listen to her patients problems for hours. She deserved a break. Lucifer grinned in victory as Linda walked off towards the man. Getting up himself he went behind the bar and grabbed a whisky bottle and headed upstairs to his apartment. He wasn't exactly planning on getting drunk, he just felt less lonely with a bottle of whisky beside him, although that sounded sort of crazy.
