Chloe hadn't heard from Lucifer in a while and she was getting worried, usually he was around her tail like a puppy. Sure, he showed her his devil side, but shouldn't she be the one not being around him, not the other way around. She'd called him more times than a normal person would in the matter of two days. Trixie had been asking for him too, even Dan wondered why he wasn't at her side, helping solve their homicide cases. Ella had asked too. It got to asking Maze, his trusty ex-bartender, she'd surly know where he is.
She technically knew everything about him, making Chloe a little jealous she took a deep breath, swallowing her pride and knocking on Maze's bedroom door, feeling greatly uncomfortable. Her and Maze weren't really the best of friends and the roommate thing only worked because Chloe needed someone to help with the rent and Maze actually liked Trixie. Maze swung open the door. Chloe letting out a sigh, happy none of her visitor's were in there. Maze still didn't seem pleased.
"Maze--sorry, Mazikeen, have you spoke to Lucifer recently?" Chloe asked, remembering only Maze's friends could call her Maze.
"Just call me Maze, and no, he's been pretty mute these couple of days," Maze narrowed her eyes, stepping out of her room. Glaring at Chloe. "It's because of you, isn't it? What have you done, Decker?"
"I-I haven't done anything, Lucifer he...when we were in the museum, he was dying, bleeding out and the guys showed up with guns pointed towards me and him then he started...shaking, I thought he was dying...but..." Chloe explained, Maze raised her eyebrows.
"He changed into his true form, healing him. Just to save you and let me guess you freaked and now he's heartbroken because he thinks your scared of him? Listen Decker, Lucifer's a great guy, devil and all." Maze frowned, stepping closer to Chloe, protective of Lucifer, but Chloe shook her head.
"No! No! I told him it's ok! I told him I wasn't afraid, that--that he wasn't a monster, because I know he isn't." Chloe exclaimed, really hoping Maze would stop stepping closer to her. "Then...he left."
"Oh." Maze said in surprise, she stopped. "You're the first to not freak then, even Linda broke when he told her."
"That's what he was talking about when he said he'd broke his therapist?" Chloe muttered, mostly to herself but she shook her head, getting back to the subject. "Look Maze, you're his..."
"Demon, protector, ex-bartender." Maze finished for her. Chloe's eyebrows shot up.
"Y-you, your a demon? Like a real demon?"
"Yes, yes, just like Lucifer's the real devil," Maze sighed, getting impatient. "Don't worry, I'll find him, knowing Lucifer he's not far."
"Thank you." Chloe smiled, tempted to hug Maze, but knowing her nature she figured that was a bad idea. She spun on her heel and Trixie was stood smiling behind her mother, she'd been waiting to see Lucifer for a couple of days, she'd missed seeing him come in and steal her breakfast, or freak out when she ran into his legs. "Hey, monkey."
"Is Maze going to find Lucifer?"
"She's going to try." Chloe answered, crouching down to her daughters, playing with her daughters pigtails. She looked to the door hearing a light knock on the wood. She told Trixie to stay there and heading to the door, swinging it open to reveal a bright, beaming Ella. She seemed a lot more down to earth than usual, Chloe held the door wide open for the girl to come in. "Ella, what are you doing here?"
"I just bumped into Lucifer, I went looking for him seem as he'd been MIA these past days, leaving us to do all the homicide work. Turns out he's been living down at that Charlotte, business womans house. Weird, right?"
Chloe felt her stomach drop, feeling a heavy pressure on her chest, that familiar sense of jealousy. Taking in all this information. She knew there was something going on between the two too, ever since she saw him shoo Charlotte down the elevator. She cleared her throat. "He's been there? All this time?"
"Pretty sure, I mean people say she's a bit weird since all that screwdriver stabbing but she's apparently pretty nice," Ella spoke, giving a little wave to Trixie. "Hey there, mini detective."
Trixie beamed at the nickname, walking to her mothers side smiling up at Ella. Wondering if she was anything like Lucifer, she ran into the girl's legs, testing Ella's reaction but Ella immediately hugged her back with an aww. Trixie stepped away with a sigh, it wasn't the same.
"Is she missing Lucifer too? God, he's Mr popular, isn't he?" Ella laughed lightly, smiling to Trixie and Chloe.
"Lucifer's my friend, he's funny." Trixie smiled sadly. Ella knelt down to her height, she didn't have to kneel down too far seem as Ella was quite small too. Ella tapped Trixie's nose.
"I'm sure you can go visit him, I'm pretty sure he's still there now." Ella suggested. Chloe shook her head.
"No, Lucifer probably wants space, that's probably why he hasn't been around." Chloe muttered, trying to find a reason not to go. She couldn't stand the idea of Lucifer and another woman, especially him staying there.
"Aren't you curious how he is? You are his partner, you were practically broken when he was in that museum, now you don't care?" Ella questioned, Chloe sighed.
"It's not that I don't care."
"It's that you care too much," Ella figured out, Chloe looking at her shifting nervously. "And you don't want to go there and find out Lucifer is with this Charlotte."
"No, I don't." Chloe admitted, taking Trixie's hand for comfort. Trixie gave her mum a knowing look, she knew she liked Lucifer, she knew that from the moment she shot him. But Lucifer clearly liked her mum but he never told her. Trixie looked up at her mother with pleading eyes.
"Let's go see Lucifer, I'm sure he'll be happy to see you mummy." Trixie smiled reassuringly, making Chloe give her daughter a small smile and a sigh.
"Fine, let's go see Lucifer." Chloe gave in.
