Lucifer disliked the cafe Chloe had brought him to, he sat sneering at all the surrounding customers, eyeing some of the woman that came in but didn't try anything. He'd feel guilty if he did whilst he was with Chloe, knowing she hated when he flirted with random women, watching them drool over him like a dog with a bone. Lucifer found his gaze locking onto Chloe. The blonde sat with her fingers curled around her mug as though she was trying to suck up all the warmth, she brought it close to her face, blowing softly into the drink - trying to cool it down so she could drink it.
Chloe couldn't help but feel the prickly feeling that was telling her Lucifer's eyes were on her, the mere thought making her fluster. Her blue eyes flickered up to Lucifer's - he'd had no attempt of drinking his drink, she lowered her cup keeping hold of it but resting it on the table.
"Not a fan of coffee?" She quizzed, noticing his dismissal to the drink. Lucifer shuffled in his seat, straightening his suit as he always did, he seemed to have completely healed.
"It has a bitter taste to it that I rather dislike." He said, his British accent strong, Chloe's lips curved hearing his accent, even she couldn't deny that it was attractive.
"I'll get you something else if you like?"
"No, it's alright Detective, coffee is fine, honestly," Lucifer told her not wanting her to go to the trouble for him, besides he was rich, he didn't need her spending her money on him. "Why do you like this little place? It has no attractive qualities, no classic music, no lights, little elegance."
"My dad used to take me here," Her voice shaky and quiet, making Lucifer understand she was showing him a piece of her life that she barely showed anyone. "Every sunday, he'd insist on taking me here. I don't blame you for not liking it, I hated it. But now it seems the only place I can think."
"Detective...I'm truly sorry about your father, I'm sure he's proud of you." Lucifer could see her eyes glaze over, seeing Chloe hurt for some reason pained him.
The brunette extended an arm, placing his hand over hers. The blonde met his gaze, his chestnut brown eyes seemed to be warmer than usual - as though one of his walls had came down - flecks of green clear in his eyes but they were zoned out by the deep brown. She felt a connection between them, they were so similar in many ways, he might not of had a parent die but he lost both his parents the day they turned their back on him, throwing him out as though he was nothing.
"So were you a bad child? Is that why your father threw you out?" Chloe spoke up, she wanted to stop herself from asking but she couldn't help but wonder, why would your family just turn on you like that? It made no sense.
Lucifer looked as though he was prepared to bring his walls back up, but she knocked them back down with her prying eyes, eager to learn more.
"No. My mother tells me I was father's favourite, I had another name...before Lucifer, obviously. Sameal, lightbringer, his favourite until he tossed me out." Lucifer muttered, concentrating on the table. The man slipped his hand away from Chloe's but she caught hold of it and entwined their fingers across the table.
"My dad never liked the idea of me following in my mothers footsteps, we were in an argument a few days before - before he died...and I finally did as he wanted after he was gone. I wanted to make people who did wrong get what they deserved, I wanted to help people let their families grieve in peace once they were sure the killer was behind bars and locked away, getting justice for what they'd done." Chloe admitted, for once didn't feel uncomfortable talking about her father...she almost felt relieved, relieved to have finally told someone why she is how she is. Lucifer seemed to have the look of understanding in his eyes.
